Context
Mental health care is a sector that is constantly evolving. More and more people are seeking mental health care. This is due, in part, to an aging population, and in recent years also to a growing demand for care among young people and those with an immigrant background. At the same time, the current supply of mental health care cannot meet this increasing demand. Greater flexibility, better collaboration within the care chain, alternative forms of care, and the use of digitalization will be needed to respond more quickly and efficiently to the demand for care. For the RINO Group as a training institute for mental health care, these trends mean that responding quickly to changing demand and demonstrating a high degree of agility and entrepreneurship are the challenges for the future. The ambition for the coming years is to continue developing the RINO Group into a future-proof training institute.
Mission
The RINO Group in Utrecht supports professionals who work with people with mental health challenges in their lifelong learning. Together with our top-notch instructors, we offer innovative, customized training programs, courses, and conferences. We distinguish ourselves through customer-focused service and are at the heart of a dynamic international network. Through this professional network, we create and share high-quality knowledge and focus on applying it to daily practice.
Organizational Structure
An enthusiastic team of approximately 80 full-time equivalents (about 125 employees) works to fulfill this mission and ambition. The RINO Group has a BIG Training Department and a Continuing Education Department (BNS). In both departments, training managers and staff work on the organization and implementation of courses, training programs, and conferences. They are supported in this by several operational teams, such as HR, Communications & Marketing, Finance, IT, Facilities, and the Conference Center. These teams are partly housed within an Operations Department and partly fall under the management of the director. The Management Team consists of four people, including the director. The department managers for BIG, BNS, and Operations are part of this team.
The RINO Group has a supervisory board that currently consists of five members. The current chair will step down on June 1, 2023, upon completing two terms. In addition to filling the vacancy for a new chair, the supervisory board has also decided to expand the board to six members. This procedure provides for that.
Nonprofit
We operate as a not-for-profit organization. The legal entity through which we conduct our activities is a private limited company (BV), namely Centrale RINO BV. Under its articles of incorporation, a BV is permitted to make a profit. The shareholder of the BV is the Centrale RINO Group Foundation. The Supervisory Board also serves as the board of the foundation. A foundation may not aim to make a profit and is considered a not-for-profit organization. The RINO Group therefore has no shareholder who expects an annual profit distribution.
