We are seeking a Chair of the Executive Board with educational insight and/or experience in education who identifies with our core values: care and curiosity. A Chair who can deliver high-quality education, an optimal learning environment for students, and an optimal working environment for staff. We are seeking an inspiring and unifying figurehead with leadership qualities and the strategic ability to shape the future of COG together with the members of the Board of Directors. About COG

The Christian Education Group (COG) is the umbrella foundation for the affiliated schools in the Vallei and Gelderland-Midden regions (Ede, Arnhem, Veenendaal, and Velp). Each school has its own unique character and consists of small-scale, engaged learning communities. A general Christian philosophy and vision serve as our inspiration. We offer various types of education: from VMBO to Gymnasium+, vocational education, and a Waldorf school, as well as MBO, adult education, corporate training, and customized programs. In short: education for lifelong learning. COG sees it as its mission to prepare pupils and students for life in a professional educational environment. With an eye for everyone’s strengths, we offer the appropriate challenges at every level.

We guide pupils, students, and participants to become (young) adults who face the world with a strong foundation of knowledge, up-to-date skills, curiosity, inspiration, an open and critical mindset, a sense of responsibility, and self-confidence.

Our new Executive Board Chair embodies the following qualities:

  • An affinity with and respect for Christian values;
  • A values-driven leader who is curious and attentive to people;
  • Extensive experience with change management in complex, professional environments;
  • Understanding of and experience with the various educational profiles and current developments in those areas, and preferably involved in educational networks;
  • An independent and critical thinker;
  • Decisiveness and the ability to get things done;
  • A high degree of administrative sensitivity with regard to accountability and proactively keeping the Supervisory Board and employee representative bodies informed;
  • Accepted, authoritative, and unifying through knowledge, experience, and conduct;
  • Focused on leading and motivating professionals, it brings out the best in people;
  • Understands the power of attention; is able to switch between different levels of the organization while maintaining their role;
  • Is able to delegate, gives employees confidence and autonomy, takes responsibility, and holds others accountable.

What do we offer?

With its combination of secondary and vocational education, COG is a wonderful educational group to work for. Here, you’ll find dedicated colleagues who are deeply committed to education. The salary is classified in Class F in accordance with the Senior Executives’ Remuneration Act (WNT). The appointment is generally for four years, with the possibility of reappointment.
