As a community-based child care organization, 2Samen believes in equal opportunities—including opportunities for development—for all children, both within our centers and beyond. We are committed to ensuring a promising start in every neighborhood. One way we do this is through our neighborhood-based approach. Our goal is for our locations to become part of the community network and for 2Samen to best meet the needs of the neighborhood. That is why we collaborate with all kinds of local organizations, such as libraries, community centers, and local businesses. As a Unit Manager, you play an important role in this.
In addition to your role in the neighborhood, you are, of course, primarily responsible for your locations. Together with the location coordinator and the team, you ensure that you excel in the field of early childhood education. As a Unit Manager, you’re not afraid to adapt quickly and make decisions. Moreover, the best care for children comes from employees who are empowered. You are proactive, decisive, and appreciative, and you see it as a challenge to support employees in developing their talents. You also have an eye for group dynamics and work processes.
2Samen is a warm and informal organization with short lines of communication. We are a learning organization and are constantly striving to improve. For example, by providing customized services and always trying new things. If something doesn’t work out? Then we’ll try something different next time! This fundamental approach gives you the opportunity to continually apply and develop your knowledge and experience. We value you for your talents and simply for who you are. Moreover, with 900 employees and 70 locations in The Hague, Naaldwijk, and Monster, we are the largest professional childcare provider in the region. That, too, creates opportunities for great
Your working hours and days are negotiable. We can offer a contract for between 24 and 32 hours per week. You will be paid according to the Childcare Collective Bargaining Agreement. As a Unit Manager, you will be placed in pay scale 10, with a gross monthly salary ranging from €3,799 to €5,167, based on a full-time position. There are also opportunities to advance to a Senior Unit Manager in pay scale 11. Your salary will depend on your work experience. And, good to know: full-time at our company is 36 hours!
As a Unit Manager, you will, of course, spend most of your time at the shelters that belong to your unit. In addition, you’ll have regular meetings at the beautiful, bright (head) office that embodies the 2Samen spirit, located on the outskirts of downtown The Hague. You’ll receive support from the staff departments (such as Facilities, HR, Pedagogy, and Marketing & Communications), your own supervisor, the Regional Manager, and, of course, your fellow Unit Managers. At 2Samen, there’s a relaxed atmosphere where you can be completely yourself.
At 2Samen, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to learn new things and grow professionally. See a course that’s a good fit? Go for it! We also place a strong emphasis on job satisfaction and well-being.
In addition, 2Samen is a talent-based organization guided by Luk DeWulf’s vision. This means we don’t view talents as mere skills (such as being good at soccer or working in a highly structured way), but rather as the things that make time fly by—and the underlying reasons behind them. Perhaps you love sports because you enjoy staying active. Or maybe it’s because you thrive on collaborating with teammates. And you work in a structured way because you like having an overview and sharing that with colleagues. In short: a vision from which we continue to learn a great deal every day and which you can also use to start a conversation with your team(s).
2Samen has about 70 locations in The Hague, Monster, and Naaldwijk. Do you live in the area and have children for whom you’re looking for childcare? As a 2Samen employee, you’ll get priority for a spot for your own child(ren). That’s great, because you can be sure your child is in good hands!
Every 2Samen employee receives a year-end bonus of 4% with their December paycheck. Of course, the amount depends on how many hours you work and when you started working this year.
In addition, we offer a comprehensive travel allowance. For example, you can receive full reimbursement for public transportation costs with a train or tram pass covering the route (or area) between your home and your workplace. Do you drive, bike, or walk to work? In that case, you’ll receive a fixed mileage allowance.
Speaking of bicycles… you can also buy a bike at a great price through 2Samen. It’s always a good option if you want to stay healthy and active and live within cycling distance of your new job.
The pension fund for the childcare sector is “Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn.” 2Samen pays 50% of your pension contribution. As an employee, you also pay 50%. This is how we build your pension together.
