
We are looking for an experienced Unit Manager for our 2Kabouters location in the Zeeheldenkwartier and our 2Ooievaars location in the Statenkwartier. In this role, you will be responsible for your locations from start to finish. This includes ensuring the children’s well-being and development in collaboration with your teams, fostering a positive work environment for your staff, and, of course, maintaining sound financial management. You will also serve as an important ambassador for 2Samen within your neighborhood.
2Kabouters is a daycare center and after-school care facility in the charming Zeeheldenkwartier neighborhood. We share a beautiful new building with De Spiegel elementary school and have lovely group rooms with plenty of light and space to play, relax, and explore. 2Ooievaars is a daycare center located in a beautiful historic building across from the Museon in the Statenkwartier. Here, we have a lovely outdoor area and a large indoor playground. Both locations are well-established in the neighborhood but still have plenty of potential.
In addition to your role in the neighborhood, you are, of course, primarily responsible for your locations. Together with the Location Coordinators and the teams, you ensure that you excel in the field of early childhood education. As a Unit Manager, you’re not afraid to adapt quickly and make decisions. Moreover, the best care for children comes from employees who are empowered. You are proactive, decisive, and appreciative, and you see it as a challenge to support employees in developing their talents. You also have an eye for group dynamics and work processes. A lot has happened recently at both locations. That is why we are looking for a Unit Manager to strengthen the teams, so that everyone can enjoy coming to work again.

You will be offered a contract with us for 32–36 hours per week. Your salary will be based on the Childcare Collective Bargaining Agreement. As a Unit Manager, you will be placed in pay grade 10, with the potential to advance to pay grade 11, earning a gross monthly salary between €3,799 and €5,794, based on a full-time position. Your exact salary will depend on your work experience. And, good to know: full-time at our company is 36 hours!
As a Unit Manager, you’ll naturally spend most of your time at the childcare centers that belong to your unit. You’ll also have regular meetings at the beautiful, bright (head) office that embodies the 2Samen spirit, located on the outskirts of The Hague’s city center and close to 2Kabouters and 2Ooievaars. You’ll receive support from the staff departments (such as Facilities, HR, Pedagogy, and Marketing & Communications), your own Regional Manager, and, of course, your fellow Unit Managers. Every 2Samen employee receives a year-end bonus of 4% with their December paycheck. Of course, the amount depends on how many hours you work and when you started working this year.
In addition, we offer a comprehensive travel allowance. For example, you can receive full reimbursement for public transportation costs with a train or tram pass covering the route (or area) between your home and your workplace. Do you drive, bike, or walk to work? In that case, you’ll receive a fixed mileage allowance.
Speaking of bicycles… you can also buy a bike at a great price through 2Samen. It’s always a good option if you want to stay healthy and active and live within cycling distance of your new job.
The pension fund for the childcare sector is “Pensioenfonds Zorg en Welzijn.” 2Samen pays 50% of your pension contribution. As an employee, you also pay 50%. This is how we build your pension together.
