Profile of a Board of Trustees Member
Due to the resignation of some members, we are looking to expand our team. We are seeking strong board members who are committed to the forward-looking development of OPSPOOR. We are looking for two members: one with a background in education and one with a background in business administration.
Profile 1:
Someone with a background in educational science and/or special education. Brings knowledge and expertise regarding learning and development and the promotion of equal opportunity in education. Preferably has knowledge and experience in the field of child care. Will also serve as a member of the education committee.
Profile 2:
Someone with a background in business administration and extensive experience in the areas of collaboration and mergers, scaling up, and business operations. Will also serve as a member of the audit committee.
As a board member, you also have a broad interest in social issues and a wide network. You contribute your knowledge and experience at a strategic level to support the organization’s vision, mission, and strategy. You are independent and have no direct or indirect interest in the OPSPOOR Foundation. You are critical, a good team player, and open to change and innovation. Moreover, you feel at home as a supervisor at an organization that is ambitious and rapidly evolving.
For both profiles
You are someone who is fully aware that society and the education system are undergoing a period of transition. You know that old myths no longer hold true and that new developments are essential to preparing children for a future where independence and entrepreneurship are core competencies. With your background in education or as someone with business expertise, you operate on the basis of trust. You are accustomed to adapting to current issues and are a skilled networker who seeks to build connections. You have a clear vision of societal developments and have delved into modern oversight, particularly where value-based oversight is a key aspect. You are intrinsically motivated to contribute to society and to the development of young people specifically by sharing your knowledge and experience and promoting your vision. You are a true team player, and as a sparring partner, you know how to strike the right tone and ask relevant questions. You feel at home in an organization that is constantly evolving; you bring the outside world in and are not afraid to show vulnerability.
About us
We are OPSPOOR. With 37 schools, hundreds of staff members, and thousands of students, OPSPOOR is one of the leading providers of elementary and special education in the Purmerend area. Every day, driven by our passion for education, we work to nurture the development of our future leaders.
For Future Makers
OPSPOOR prepares students for a future they will shape themselves. We don’t know what the future holds, but we are curious. We equip our students with the skills to make the most of it: knowledge, creativity, communication, personal responsibility, an entrepreneurial and inquisitive mindset, and collaboration. We have faith in them. Now and in the future. But also in ourselves. With ambition, we challenge our students—and ourselves—to always go that extra mile. To make the most of every opportunity and talent.
Supervisory Board
Development is in OPSPOOR’s DNA. OPSPOOR is bold enough to venture off the beaten path when necessary. We always look ahead and seek out relevant innovations that enhance quality. The Supervisory Board oversees the achievement of objectives within the existing regulatory framework. It focuses on both compliance with regulations and exploring new solutions within a complex dynamic. The Supervisory Board serves as a sounding board and approves certain decisions made by the Executive Board. It maintains contact with various bodies within the organization, such as the General Student Council (GMR) and the directors. It conducts school visits to establish a connection with the practical reality. And it fulfills the role of employer for the Executive Board.
