LEVVEL
In the Netherlands, youth services and child and adolescent psychiatry are still too often two separate worlds. At Levvel, those worlds come together. We offer all the support needed under one roof: from parenting support to highly complex psychiatric care. We always focus on what children, young people, and families truly need, and we tailor our guidance and treatment accordingly—even if that means bending the rules. We work closely together and learn from one another. This allows us to continually innovate.
Everyone is welcome at Levvel. Everyone is different. We value those differences. Whether you’re attracted to boys or girls. Grew up in a religious family, or don’t believe in anything. We think it’s important that you can be who you are. Regardless of race, religion, gender, or who you’re attracted to. We believe that despite those differences, we’re actually often very much alike. To make that visible and tangible, we brought all kinds of people together one day. (see video).
Organization The organization, which operates primarily in the Amsterdam/North Holland region, was formed through a merger between Spirit and de Bascule, to which the former Lijn5 was recently added. With the Levvel Infographic, Levvel provides an overview of who we are and what we stand for. Scientific research into effectiveness and evidence-based care is a key component of Levvel’s work. In addition to youth care and support, Levvel offers special education in the Amsterdam region through its PI schools. Levvel also owns the research agency PI Research. The entire holding company employs approximately 2,000 staff members who help more than 6,000 children, young people, and families annually, making Levvel the leading provider of youth care and support in the capital.
Wanted: Two Members of the Levvel Supervisory Board
As the terms of several of our members are coming to an end, we are seeking two new members for the Levvel Supervisory Board. For these positions, we are looking for candidates with (a combination of) specific experience and expertise, so that together they possess:
Supervisory Board Levvel is governed according to the Supervisory Board model, under which the two members of the Executive Board are responsible for strategy and management, while the Supervisory Board ensures that the Executive Board takes Levvel’s social objectives into account when formulating policy and carrying out its management duties. The Supervisory Board also assesses the organization’s overall performance and ensures good employment practices and effective governance. To this end, the Supervisory Board advises both directors and serves as a sounding board. This is done with an appropriate, statutorily defined division of roles between the supervisory body and the management, and a vision of effective oversight. The Supervisory Board currently consists of six members and will expand to seven members. We strive to ensure that the Supervisory Board reflects our society.
The Supervisory Board meets at least six times a year and as often as necessary. In addition, there are regular working visits to various departments within Levvel, where your presence as a supervisor is appreciated. The atmosphere and working style are professional, with an open and constructively critical culture of communication; the Board functions as a team in which everyone’s strengths are utilized and respected. Independence, commitment, trust, and integrity are key pillars of this approach. The Board has established various committees, such as a Finance Committee, a Quality, Safety, and Innovation Committee, and an Employer Committee, which prepare decisions and provide advice to the Supervisory Board under the responsibility of the full Board.
Members are appointed for a four-year term, which may be extended for up to four additional years, and receive an annual compensation of 10,000 euros commensurate with the complexity of the organization.
