These members will be appointed upon the recommendation of the tenant representative body.
Reggewoon is a socially driven housing association that views regional collaboration as a key means of creating a good living environment for tenants and residents. We invite anyone who fits the profile to apply.
For the social profile, we are seeking a supervisor with a clear understanding of social developments as they relate to housing and public housing. The various municipalities in the region have their own dynamics and, as a result, their own approaches.
As a supervisor, you have a clear understanding of these social developments. You have gained administrative experience in the social services or healthcare sector; candidates with municipal experience may also be of interest. Your unique perspective allows you to bring a fresh perspective to the organization. You can relate to the region and have an affinity with the housing association’s various target groups. For this position, we particularly encourage candidates with a non-Western background, women, and candidates without supervisory experience to apply.
In addition, you have/are:
For the Real Estate Profile, we are looking for candidates with expertise in real estate and sustainability. Reggewoon is in a strong financial position and wants to make an impact in the region, with a focus on strategic collaboration and development. You may be a former board member of a housing association, a professor at a university of applied sciences, or have a real estate background in the business sector. You have knowledge of the region, municipal dynamics, and a clear vision for area development (experience with the Environment Act). You are familiar with real estate in the broad sense, the (market) parties operating within it, real estate transactions, risk and finance, as well as the ethical aspects that play a role in these areas. As a Real Estate Supervisor, you will be a member of the audit committee.
You also have:
Both supervisors are appointed upon the recommendation of the tenant representatives. This means you must have a genuine interest in and motivation to engage with tenant associations and other resident representatives. In short, you are committed to tenant interests.
Skills and personal characteristics for both profiles:
The guiding principle for the composition of the Supervisory Board is that its members are generalists who together form a multidisciplinary team and complement one another. To ensure comprehensive decision-making, the members possess a broad perspective and also have a specific area of expertise or perspective. The members are decisive and results-oriented and are able to engage in collegial discussions.
The members actively contribute to creating conditions that facilitate sound decision-making. This includes mutual respect, active listening, and an openness to other perspectives, with the aim of reaching a consensus. They also have a clear understanding of the role and position of the supervisory body and an affinity with the housing association’s objectives and target groups. The members are independent, objective, and free from any appearance of a potential conflict of interest or accountability to a constituency.
The Supervisory Board and the individual supervisory board members have a specific responsibility (known as the “duty to obtain information”) to ensure that they have access to relevant information from the management board, the external auditor, and/or third parties (such as management, advisors, the controller, or the external regulator). If necessary, the Supervisory Board may obtain information from officers and external advisors of the housing association. The Board of Directors is informed of this in advance and may assist if desired. The Supervisory Board may also ask certain officers and external advisors to attend Supervisory Board meetings. The Supervisory Board strives for a diverse and balanced composition. This applies to gender, age, professional groups, knowledge and expertise, ethnic background, and personality traits. Supervisory board members are required to undergo annual continuing education. Information on this can be found on the website of the Association of Housing Corporation Supervisors (VTW). A sufficient degree of local/regional involvement among members of the Supervisory Board will also be ensured.
Tenants are represented by the Hellendoorn Tenants’ Platform and the Wierden-Enter Tenants’ Interest Foundation. In addition to the members, the residents’ committees also play an important role in the association. Together, members and residents’ committees form the foundation of the tenants’ organizations. These two bodies consult and negotiate with Reggewoon on policy matters and maintain contact with the Supervisory Board, primarily through the Supervisory Board members appointed upon the tenants’ nomination. Currently, two members of the Supervisory Board have been appointed upon the tenants’ nomination, as required by law.
Because of the vacancies, the tenant organizations are actively involved in this selection process on behalf of the tenants on the Supervisory Board. The tenant organizations view Reggewoon as an open, accessible housing association with a strong social focus. Reggewoon takes the tenant organizations seriously, listens carefully, and regularly acts on their advice. A good example of this is the process and outcome of the new business plan. It is therefore important to the two tenant organizations that the new supervisory board members fit into that image and culture of the housing association. More information about Reggewoon, annual reports, and the business plan can be found at www.reggewoon.nl.
