The B&A Foundation, which is led by a board of directors, has a three-member Supervisory Board (RvC) that serves as its supervisory body. Since two members of the Supervisory Board will be stepping down in the coming years, we are seeking to appoint two new members, each with a specific desired profile, to further shape the supervisory role.
As a council member with a substantive portfolio, you have a strong connection to the social sector and are driven by a desire to make a valuable contribution through your social engagement. With your empathy and understanding of the target group, you play an essential role in strategic discussions within the council. You have knowledge of the social sector and are familiar with municipal procurement processes. In addition, you have a business-minded approach and experience in tapping into new markets. Social innovation is not foreign to you. As a sparring partner, you bring a fresh perspective and add value. You have a clear vision of the social sector and social innovation.
As a member with a focus on strategic HRM and change management, you have experience with change processes and organizational transitions. You have a background in administration and are well-versed in governance. With your knowledge and experience, you recognize the challenges within the social sector, such as labor shortages and innovative organizational approaches to address potential budget cuts in the social sector.
For both positions, we place a strong emphasis on diversity in our recruitment and selection process. This encompasses a mix of differences among people.
We are looking for (experienced) supervisors who take a modern approach to supervision. This means you will focus on serving as an active sparring partner and engaging in substantive strategic discussions. You are intrinsically motivated and contribute to the quality of supervision.
At B&A, we all approach our work with optimism, a healthy willingness to embrace change, and the conviction that there is a solution to every problem. Whether they’re advising or executing, our people strive to be both a safety net and a springboard for the people we serve. They provide the proverbial nudge—and sometimes the much-needed kick in the pants.
We never proceed without involving the people themselves. It is precisely the wishes of the residents themselves—people who know the neighborhoods where we work like the back of their hand because it is their home—that are central to what we do and how we do it. We don’t sit at a drawing board and decide what would be good for people; instead, we watch as those people draw their own plans.
We are committed to serving all residents of the neighborhoods where we work—from children to seniors, from isolated individuals to young people searching for their place in the world, and groups that are often overlooked or underrepresented. Down-to-earth, solution-oriented, and collaborative in the complex world of siloed interests, barriers, and bureaucratic red tape. With empathy, but also a healthy dose of stubbornness when necessary. And always with results as our goal: we’ve done our job well when people no longer need us.
