The Position

As Team Manager for Community Living at the Municipality of Zeist, you play a crucial role in ensuring a good quality of life for all residents of Zeist. You lead your team with a keen eye for the major challenges involved, namely promoting the health, safety, and development of residents. Some residents need care and support, and your team is ready to contribute to this at the policy level.

This is a key role, as you will help set the direction alongside your fellow managers, while reporting to the Director of Social Services. You serve as a sparring partner for executives and a valuable member of the management team. As a Team Manager, you make an even greater social impact by promoting an integrated approach and strengthening collaboration across different policy areas. You look beyond your own team and work successfully together on municipality-wide challenges.

The Team

The 22 advisors of Team Samen Leven maintain close contact with local partners such as the Regional Social Services Department, housing authorities, social service organizations, healthcare institutions, and neighboring municipalities. They are well-informed about national developments and translate these into concrete policy proposals and work assignments through their interaction with the aldermen responsible for social affairs.

As a Team Manager, you ensure that your employees continue to improve in their role as advisors to the executive board and the council. In doing so, you focus on your team’s resilience, professional maturity, and objectivity. Because you are someone who does not shy away from difficult conversations and stands up for your people when necessary, you help them advocate for their cause and develop into strong discussion partners.

Your Profile

You are a Team Manager with flair and a positive, energetic vibe, who has plenty of experience under your belt. You focus on employees’ strengths, foster a sense of ownership, and are excellent at bringing people and teams together. You possess a great deal of assertiveness and expertise:

  • You have at least 3 years of verifiable work experience as a manager in the social services sector.
  • You have demonstrable work experience in the field of (strategic) policy advising in the social sector over the past 5 years within a government organization.
  • You have experience providing coaching and supportive leadership to employees.
  • You are persuasive and know how to inspire people and highlight issues in an empathetic way.
  • You have strong networking skills, both regionally and locally, and with relevant partners.
  • You are a strategic thinker and have a clear vision of how the challenges and ambitions in the social sector can be achieved.
  • You work in a structured manner, always maintain a clear overview, and provide direction for the course of action.
  • You have experience in business operations and possess sufficient financial knowledge.

The Offer

  • A salary of up to €7,165 gross per month (Scale 13 of the Municipal Collective Bargaining Agreement) for a 36-hour workweek.
  • An extended pay scale, meaning a salary that exceeds the maximum of your own job grade. This is possible if you demonstrate exceptional performance.
  • A flexible spending account equal to 17.05% of your salary.
  • A good ABP pension.
  • If you work from home, the municipality will provide the necessary resources.
  • Personal development through training courses and workshops at the Zeist Academy.
