More about this organization
Two women dressed in business attire are walking down a modern hallway, chatting; one of them is carrying a clipboard.

Are you an inspiring team leader with a vision for project management? Would you like to work with a dedicated team to shape the spatial development of four municipalities? Then apply now for the position of Project Team Manager!

What will you be doing?

The Projects team consists of project managers, consultants, and support staff who work on the spatial development of Bergen, Uitgeest, Castricum, and Heiloo. They deliver expert work that is fast, results-oriented, flexible, and of the highest quality. As the Projects Team Manager, you will lead the team in an inspiring manner, ensuring that we work professionally on the municipalities’ spatial planning challenges. You are the face of the Projects Team and play a decisive role in shaping the strategy and direction of this division.

Your main responsibilities are:

  • You will guide the team’s strategy and direction. As an independent unit, the team is still young and is evolving from a team with many temporary staff members into one with a permanent core surrounded by a flexible workforce.
  • You will lead the organizational unit that provides project capacity—on a professional yet collegial basis—primarily for municipal area development (housing construction). The Projects Team will be in a state of constant change to ensure that project capacity is utilized as effectively as possible.
  • You will ensure that there is a constant focus on the quality of our staff, a task-oriented approach, and the connection and synergy between the various disciplines within our field.
  • We will continue to invest in our culture—namely, an agile, self-learning organization that prioritizes development and professionalism.

As a team manager, you are ultimately responsible for achieving the business results. You actively maintain your network of clients—both executive and administrative—within and outside BUCH.

You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll be working alongside the Spatial Development Domain Manager and the other six team managers in the Spatial Development domain, as well as with and within the other domains. Together with the entire organization, you’ll be working to create livable, vibrant, and sustainable communities in Bergen, Uitgeest, Castricum, and Heiloo. You’ll ensure that every member of your team understands how they contribute to this mission.

You work for four municipalities, all under one organization. Your responsibilities are partly outlined in the coalition programs of the four municipalities. You adhere to the various budgets and service agreements. And your team’s direction aligns with that of the organization.

You?

To succeed in this role, you need a clear vision of project management. You combine vision and leadership with a willingness to foster creativity. You are a unifying force, energetic, approachable, and a source of inspiration. You have a strong personality and the ability to position the Projects team and project-based work within BUCH with authority, decisiveness, and a keen understanding of the relationships involved.

  • You have a facilitative and quality-driven management style and have extensive experience leading independent professionals from various disciplines.
  • You have proven experience in project management and change management. You can translate this into concrete goals and actions.
  • You are committed to quality and job satisfaction as you work on projects within the municipalities and the municipal organization.
  • You understand the political and organizational environment in which the BUCH operates and are able to effectively navigate the complex relationships and interests of the municipalities of Bergen, Uitgeest, Castricum, and Heiloo.

And also:

  • You have a college or university level of education and relevant knowledge and experience in the field of spatial planning;
  • You are able to provide direction for integrated and project-based work and collaboration within the supply chain.

And what about us?

We operate as a single organization serving the municipalities of Bergen, Uitgeest, Castricum, and Heiloo. We respond to changes in society, the government’s role in those changes, social challenges, the public’s demand for transparency, and the goal of providing optimal services to all residents. It is therefore a rewarding challenge to work on behalf of these four municipalities.

Activities within the spatial development domain are divided into three themes: economy, environment, and climate. You will work in a new team consisting of seven team managers and a domain manager. You will contribute to the development of a beautiful area featuring beaches, dunes, and lakes. You’ll also help shape the work organization, which includes a total of about 850 colleagues. You’ll have a lot of freedom to shape your role according to your own ideas, develop yourself, and grow personally.

And also:

  • A gross monthly salary between €5,561 and €7,325 (pay scale 13) based on a 36-hour workweek;
  • A personal spending allowance of 17.05% of your monthly salary. You can have this paid out at a time of your choosing or use it for things like:
  • Additional leave hours
  • Training costs
  • A contribution toward your gym membership and/or museum pass.
  • A pension plan through the ABP pension fund;
  • More than 5 weeks of vacation per year;
  • Castricum Town Hall is your home base. We offer flexible working hours and the opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance, for example by working from home. We also provide you with a proper workspace at home by supplying you with an office chair and a monitor, among other things;
  • A one-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position;
  • Travel expenses or a work-from-home allowance, a laptop, and a phone.

You’ll start with us by going through an orientation program so you can quickly feel at home. We have our own BUCH Academy—a one-stop shop where you can both take and teach courses, training sessions, and lectures.

Fun?

Great! Apply by May 12, 2024, using the application button. Would you like more information first? Please contact Edo Tichelaar, Domain Manager. You can call or text him at 06-28428317.
