Coaching and leading a team of reintegration consultants and job coaches who support Amsterdam residents receiving benefits as they transition into the workforce. Contributing to Amsterdam by providing leadership, taking responsibility, and collaborating. You will work in a diverse team, serving as a link between the mission and vision of the Work Participation and Income Department, the division, and their implementation on the ground.

The position

As the Amsterdamwerkt! team manager, you will lead your team and determine how resources are allocated for your reintegration programs, with the goal of helping as many Amsterdammers as possible transition into employment. The team is responsible for a specific (multidisciplinary) initiative. You will ensure coherence and integration among the various internal and external parties collaborating on these initiatives. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for the team.

You will encourage the development of personal leadership, lead by example, coach employees, and/or provide feedback on this. In addition, you will promote diversity and inclusion within the team by raising awareness of these issues and fostering open discussion to support our inclusive work environment.

You will facilitate the learning and development of both new and existing employees, investing in their well-being, agility, and professional expertise. You will also implement HR policies for your employees. In this way, you will contribute to the goal of working in an agile and task-oriented manner.

Here's what you do on an average day

  • Developing an annual plan and budget. You will set performance goals with employees and monitor progress. In addition, you will prepare, analyze, and interpret (financial) management reports and dashboards, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Translate the organization’s policies into desired outcomes and products or services for your own team. You will also contribute to developing (based on laws and regulations, among other factors) the implementation policies of the department and the management. You will advise on the implementation of new regulations and ensure that feedback provided by reintegration consultants and job coaches during implementation is translated into policy.
  • As a member of the management team, you will contribute to the department’s policies and management. You will advise the department manager on the implementation and improvement of outputs and products, and evaluate and monitor the implementation of policies, products, and outputs.
  • You will ensure consistency between developments and changes in the areas of organization, processes, people, and systems within the department. In addition, you will occasionally lead cross-team or cross-departmental projects (multidisciplinary initiatives) and serve as the primary point of contact for progress updates.
  • Oversee the team’s professional development. You identify current and anticipated learning needs, validate training profiles, invest in employee well-being, adaptability, and professional expertise, and facilitate the learning and development of both new and existing employees.
  • You establish (personal) development agreements regarding participation in training programs, covering training hours and work performance, and monitor professional development and training outcomes. In doing so, you foster collaboration and build a sense of teamwork and a strong foundation.
