Are you a collaborative leader with a passion for social and cultural programs? If so, apply now for the position of Programming Team Leader at our libraries.
In this role, you will initially lead the Reading Team, which is responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of programs focused on reading promotion and language skills. Early next year, we will be restructuring the department, and you may also have a number of colleagues from other areas join your team. You will help your colleagues prioritize the multitude of projects and tasks and ensure quality, progress, and coherence. In doing so, you will have an eye for innovation, collaboration, and the role of the library in a rapidly changing society.
Within the Programming Department, we develop activities in the areas of Language, Digital, Reading, and Participation. Initially, you will lead the Reading Team—the team that works with great enthusiasm every day to promote reading and foster a love of reading. They do this not only in our libraries, but also in schools and at health clinics, for example. The Reading team consists of 9 people, and the entire Programming department has 20 members. To carry out these initiatives, the team receives support from colleagues in customer service, volunteers, and our partners. You will also collaborate with the Marcom team on promotion and the Collections team to connect with our book offerings. The team will most likely expand early next year and take on additional areas of responsibility, with the goal of fostering cross-pollination between these areas. Change management skills will therefore be highly valuable in this role.
More and more people are finding their way to the Zuid-Kennemerland Library. Of course, they come to borrow books, but also to read the newspaper in peace, study, participate in an activity, or simply meet up with others. The library is changing, and our role in society is becoming increasingly important. The library is the living room of the community, where everyone is welcome and where you can “be yourself together.” It is a place where you can find answers to your questions in various ways and where you can develop yourself. You’ll find the Zuid-Kennemerland Library in the municipalities of Bloemendaal, Haarlem, Heemstede, Hillegom, and Zandvoort, where we have a total of 10 library branches.
