Would you like to contribute to our programs focused on developing language and digital skills? Can you help meet the needs of our highly diverse target groups in our municipalities? If so, apply now for this temporary position (32 hours per week) where you can make a real difference. The position runs from December 1, 2025, through mid-June.
We’re looking for you if you have experience with programming in the cultural and social sectors and possess a healthy dose of enthusiasm and organizational skills. As one of the team leaders in the Programming Department, you’ll lead a passionate team responsible for developing and implementing a wide range of activities. Initially, you will start with a small team of 4 colleagues: Team Digi/Language. In early February, you will also temporarily lead Team Participation (5 team members). The position is open due to maternity leave and a departing team leader.
Within the Programming Department, we develop activities in the areas of language, digital literacy, reading, and participation. The Digi/Language Team organizes activities to enhance the digital skills of young people and older adults and to improve the language skills of various target groups. The Participation Team collaborates with communities in our municipalities and works with them to develop activities on current social issues. In addition to the two teams you will lead, there is also a Reading Team. The entire Programming Department consists of 20 people. To carry out these activities, the team receives support from colleagues in the service department, volunteers, and our partners. Together, you foster development, connection, and inspiration among the residents of the Zuid-Kennemerland region. The Programming Department is currently undergoing its own transformation: early next year, we will be reducing from three to two teams. Change management skills will therefore be particularly valuable in this temporary position.
More and more people are finding their way to the Zuid-Kennemerland Library. Of course, to borrow books, but also to read a newspaper in peace, to study, to take part in an activity, or to meet up with others. The Library is changing, and our role in society is becoming increasingly important. The Library is the living room of the community, where everyone is welcome and where you can “be yourself together.” It is a place where you can find answers to your questions in various ways and where you can develop yourself. You’ll find the Zuid-Kennemerland Library in the municipalities of Bloemendaal, Haarlem, Heemstede, Hillegom, and Zandvoort, where we have a total of 10 library branches.
For more information about the Participation department, see “Kom Mee-maken in de Bibliotheek.” Feel free to contact Francien Huizing, Interim Programming Manager, at francien.huizing@bibliotheekzuidkennemerland.nl for more information about the position. You can also apply right away by submitting your cover letter and resume to sollicitaties@bibliotheekzuidkennemerland.nl.
Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2025. Interviews will take place in the first weeks of November.
This position is being advertised internally and externally at the same time. If candidates are equally qualified, preference will be given to an internal candidate. We may check references. The Library aims to reflect society; we are looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds and experience. We do not welcome unsolicited applications.
