Job Description

As a Control Room Team Leader within Liander Customer and Control (LKC), you’ll lead your team with great energy and help your people truly grow. You’ll be based in Haarlem. Your top priority is to keep the grid running optimally, ensuring maximum energy reliability for customers and the proper handling of all related matters. You’ll help make the grid more professional at Alliander.

As Control Room Team Leader, you’ll help improve the reliability of the grid

You will manage a team of approximately 22 full-time equivalents. The team monitors, operates, and oversees maintenance on our high-voltage, medium-voltage, and, where applicable, low-voltage grids.

This includes troubleshooting, switching power grids during outages, scheduled maintenance and construction work, and permanent repairs. The team also handles administrative tasks such as data correction, outage evaluation, and analysis.

You will share responsibility for the LKC’s vision and help bring it to life. As Product Owner, you will also be responsible for a number of initiatives, such as implementing systems and processes within the department to improve quality or drive innovation.

You thrive on being constantly on the go; you feel responsible for the quality of the team, LKC, and O&S, and you strive to ensure that everything is done as efficiently, customer-friendly, and as automated as possible.

As a Team Leader, you will report to the LKC Manager. The LKC is part of the Maintenance & Breakdowns (O&S) division.

We’re building the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. And as a Control Room Team Leader, you’ll be part of this effort. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing hierarchical leadership and developing, guiding, instructing, coaching, and motivating your employees.
  • Focusing on innovation and improvement through measures such as digitization and automation.
  • Translating the LKC’s vision into KPIs and potential improvements for your team.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and build support for your plans (for improvement).
  • Identifying trends, both within Alliander and within your team.
  • Making the most effective use of data analysis.

You’re the perfect fit for Alliander

Did you know that Alliander is made up of several companies? Together with Liander, Qirion, Qterra, Dep, and Entrnce, we develop and manage the energy grid for millions of people in the Netherlands. And with the current energy transition, that’s hard work. We do this with the help of over 8,000 professionals. Thanks to these talented individuals, we have every confidence in the Netherlands’ energy future. Together with you, we’re making that possible.

And you’ll be doing that at our Liander business unit. Here, you’ll share responsibility for the management and maintenance of energy networks, such as electricity and gas. You’ll be working alongside approximately 3,000 colleagues. This is how we supply energy to households, businesses, and other customers.

You can only come up with the best strategies if you have enough energy. And the right work environment gives you that. So it has to be worth it. The Maintenance & Breakdowns (M&B) department is made up of dedicated and honest colleagues. Your future colleague will tell you more about it here.

Maaike Walda-Scholten, LKC Manager: “Our challenge is to drive the energy transition from within the organization and help shape our short- and long-term strategies to achieve this goal. The energy transition can only succeed with your help!”

You make it even more energetic

Driving the energy transition. You do this by leveraging your own strengths and talents. And you do it with us. Will you contribute to this with your desire to innovate? Sounds great! Especially if you also bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, along with several years of managerial experience.
  • Relevant technical knowledge of the energy transition and grid digitization is a plus.
  • Creativity in translating market innovations into LKC products and services and implementing them.
  • Be a source of inspiration for your team and be able to effectively develop and communicate your vision.
  • IT/OT knowledge.

Better organized just for you

In return, based on a 38-hour workweek, you will receive:

  • A salary ranging from €4,955 to €7,079 gross per month.
  • Based on a full-time workweek, you receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB) equal to 18% of your gross annual salary, which includes compensatory time off. If you do not work full-time, you are not entitled to compensatory time off and will receive 12.8%. You decide whether to use this for training, extra days off, or additional pay, among other things.
  • A year-end bonus in December equal to 6% of the monthly salaries paid during the current calendar year.
  • A pension plan with ABP, specifically for government and education employees. We contribute 70% of your pension premium.
  • Reimbursement for education and training. In most cases, Alliander will reimburse the full cost of your education.
