Can you help this new team take flight? Do you want to harness this team’s drive to build a modern, flexible municipal organization? Are you skilled at supporting your team in translating political and administrative goals into clear, actionable policies and implementing them? We’d love to meet you!

In short

  • You will manage a team of approximately 30 professionals. You will be responsible for achieving operational and financial results, driving innovation, and ensuring the well-being of your team.
  • Your first task is to build a strong team capable of developing and implementing HR policies in a coordinated manner.
  • Together with the BI&O Department Manager and the Organizational Consulting Team Leader, you form the department’s management team. Together, you are responsible for the overall mission of BI&O. In addition to the department’s professional development, this mission also involves balancing human resources and tasks.

The position

As the Policy and Implementation Team Leader for the recently formed Policy and Implementation Team, you will serve as the results-oriented, coaching-style team leader. The team focuses on the following areas: strategic organizational development, HR policy, and implementation. These have been combined into a single team to strengthen HR’s implementation capacity. By combining strategic organizational development with the development and implementation of policy into a single team, HR’s implementation capacity is strengthened. Greater attention to implementation leads to better policies and better execution of those policies.

Here's what you do on an average workday

  • You will hold work meetings with the team members who are working on the vision for personal care, and you will ensure alignment with the board’s mandate on Inclusion & Diversity.
  • You will consult with the department manager regarding preparations for the staff alderman for Human Resources.
  • You have a coaching session with a consultant about a complex case.
  • You're having a meeting to discuss absenteeism with one of your team members.
  • You have your monthly consultation with your financial advisor.
  • You are leading a team meeting in a hybrid setting.
  • You consult with your team members regarding employment conditions and with your fellow team leader from HR about a structured work process for the implementation of new regulations.

This is where you get started

Everyone is welcome within the HR department, and we value the differences among our colleagues—in age, background, gender, personality, dreams, and hobbies. All these differences lead to better results for our organization and our city. We’re interested in your talent, and we don’t think in terms of limitations, but rather in terms of opportunities. If you need resources or accommodations to do your job well, we’ll make sure they’re available. So whoever you are: you’re warmly invited to apply for a position that appeals to you. The selection committees are diverse in composition and know how to conduct inclusive hiring. The scoring form we use has also been reviewed for these aspects.
