About the Fund

The Performing Arts Fund is the cultural fund for music, theater, musical theater, dance, and festivals in the Netherlands. On behalf of the national government, the Fund provides support for all forms of professional performing arts. 

Our organization is committed to fostering a vibrant performing arts scene that

appeals to as many different people as possible and is right in the heart of the

society. All of this with a focus on artists and performers from

various genres and generations. 

The Performing Arts Fund offers multi-year support, various

programming and production grants, individual contributions, and

programs to encourage new initiatives. In addition, it

What will you be doing?

You will manage approximately 20 grant consultants. They will evaluate

grant applications and financial reports, and incorporate the advice of a

advisory committee. You will ensure that the staffing for the

grant applications are in order, so that there is sufficient capacity and substantive

knowledge. In addition, you will manage more complex substantive cases and

In the role:

  • You will manage approximately 20 grant consultants;
  • Do you create a comprehensive capacity plan for employees and consultants, and do you identify risks and areas of concern in a timely manner?
  • If you identify a need for training and development (both individual and team-based), you translate this into a training program

    and you organize and facilitate this process;

  • Evaluate your grant cycles, monitor their implementation, analyze the results, and provide recommendations on them;
  • Do you coordinate and monitor the implementation of processes that span multiple grant cycles, such as tracking the activities of

    organizations receiving long-term subsidies (monitoring), including

    by auditing annual financial statements;

  • Translate your grant programs into practical guides for grant consultants.

Your profile 

Our ideal candidate has: 

  • Knowledge of and experience with grant award procedures;   
  • Knowledge of and experience in the cultural sector, preferably in the performing arts sector;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch and English;
  • Experience with project-based work, consulting, and progress monitoring;
  • Management experience;
  • Well-developed skills in the areas of situational awareness, organizational sensitivity, knowledge sharing, and

    information analysis;

  • College-level education, work experience, and critical thinking skills; 
  • Financial knowledge (for auditing financial statements).

What do we offer?

  • Position for 32–36 hours per week; 
  • One-year contract with the possibility of a permanent position; 
  • Gross monthly salary in accordance with Scale 11 of the Central Government Collective Bargaining Agreement (up to 5,586 euros per month), depending on education and experience; 
  • Thirteenth-month bonus, vacation pay, pension;
