Senior Manager, Strategy and Projects (1 FTE)

What will you be doing?
At IVC Evidensia, we ensure healthy pets and happy pet owners. From puppies to senior pets, we provide the best primary and secondary care and, when the time comes, help you say a meaningful goodbye.

As a Strategy and Projects Manager, you will help business units within IVC Evidensia successfully launch and maintain programs by monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed. You will do this by collaborating with external consultants as well as with IVC Evidensia colleagues from various departments.

You will report to the CFO, who, in addition to Finance, is also responsible for developing and updating the three-year strategy and the annual plan. One of your tasks will be to work with the CFO to assist the management team in organizing and drafting the three-year strategic plan and the annual plan. You will also be responsible for translating the strategy into the necessary projects and helping to set them up.

Examples of programs we have launched:

  • Implementation of new departments and structures within the Benelux and Poland;
  • Compliance projects, including those for HR and IT;
  • Workload & Job Satisfaction Project.

What are your responsibilities?
You monitor and manage the progress of projects by using the right tools and templates, as well as tailored project management techniques. You identify bottlenecks, dependencies, and risks, analyze them, and resolve them. You define action items, monitor them, and escalate issues as needed.

Managing an effective flow of communication and keeping both the internal support organization and the operational business units informed in a timely manner are also part of your responsibilities; in addition, you serve as the motivator and manager of the project teams.

As Strategy and Projects Manager, you will support projects at the strategic level and ensure that everything is completed on time and within budget, and that all team members collaborate effectively during the development and execution of each project. You will establish a project management framework to ensure a structured approach to managing projects. Various stakeholders are involved, such as team members, project managers, project sponsors, and operational teams, etc. You ensure that everyone has well-defined roles, responsibilities, and decision-making authority.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • You ensure the timely delivery and quality of overall progress reports and project management results;
  • You monitor and report on portfolio, program, and project budgets and resources;
  • You manage stakeholders, share information, identify risks and issues, and provide support;
  • You will develop, plan, and coordinate events at the program level (Increment Planning, Increment Demo, and other informal events);
  • You will prepare regular reports and statistics and develop effective systems for managing data;
  • You ensure quality standards are met within the Portfolio/Project;
  • You will develop reporting systems and present analyses to management to support decision-making.

What are we looking for?

  • You are an expert in your field, capable of thinking broadly and connecting different disciplines. In addition, you know how to weigh different interests, negotiate, plan, and organize;
  • Extensive managerial experience (7–10 years) in a PMO or consulting role within a similarly complex organization. The latter is preferred;
  • You have an academic level of work and thinking, with at least a master’s degree, and preferably experience with project-based work;
  • It is a plus if you have certifications in common project management methodologies, such as Prince2 and Scrum;
  • You are fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English;
  • You recognize political interests and are able to assess the feasibility of proposals;
  • You have extensive experience with issue and stakeholder management and collaborating within networks.

What do we offer?
We are constantly working to improve our processes, increase efficiency, and make them more practical. While we work hard, we also believe that fun and enthusiasm are important! We offer a work environment with a positive and friendly team atmosphere, and no two days are the same! We offer you an independent and versatile role in a rapidly growing organization with the following terms of employment:

  • A dynamic environment where you have the freedom to come up with new ideas;
  • A competitive salary, based on your education and experience;
  • Laptop and phone;
  • Excellent pension plan;
  • Leased car;
  • 25 days of vacation;
  • Flexible working hours;
  • There is room for (personal) development; an individual development budget is available each year;
  • Group discounts and special offers on the products and services offered by our clinics;
  • You can bring your dog to the office.
