What will you be doing?

Are you eager to take our procurement strategy to new heights, reduce costs, and free up resources for what we’re truly passionate about: providing top-quality care? Join our dynamic team, which includes an enthusiastic fellow procurement specialist and a dedicated administrative assistant, where you’ll share responsibility for an impressive annual procurement volume of approximately 70 million. Together, you’ll work hand in hand to procure a wide range of products and services, ranging from cutting-edge IT solutions to critical medical supplies and everything in between, always in close consultation with our internal stakeholders.

Your success as a Senior Buyer will depend on your ability to implement and promote our procurement policy within Arkin. Your goal is to cover our procurement volume with professionally negotiated agreements that are well managed. You ensure optimal value for money, availability of supplies, and maintain strong relationships with our suppliers, all with a thoughtful approach and a keen eye for detail. In addition, you are the architect of complex procurement processes and a key player in developing our procurement strategy and requirements specifications for entering the market.

You’re an expert at building and maintaining relationships, both internally and externally, and you’re comfortable with challenging negotiations, always striving for what’s best for Arkin.

And don’t forget, depending on your experience and leadership skills, this role even offers the opportunity to take on a coordinating role within our procurement team. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Finance Manager, and your expertise and vision will play a crucial role in guiding our team toward new successes in procurement.

• Salary in accordance with the GGZ Collective Bargaining Agreement, depending on education and/or work experience;
• This is a 36-hour-per-week position for one year, and if you enjoy the role, we definitely intend to offer you a permanent contract afterward;
• The position is based at Arkin’s headquarters in Amsterdam-Noord, near the NDSM ferry;
• An end-of-year bonus of 8.33%, 8% vacation pay, and you’ll accrue pension benefits through the Healthcare and Welfare Pension Fund;

You understand that procurement doesn’t end with the contract; your attention to detail ensures seamless contract implementation and smooth P2P processes. Your communication skills and strategic insight make you indispensable to our team.

We would also be delighted to receive your application if you:   

• You have a college or university level of work and thinking; a completed NEVI Expert, NEVI II, or comparable certification is a plus; practical experience is a must;
• You have experience in the procurement field, including at least several years of experience leading supplier selection processes in various markets and within a large organization;
• You are skilled at building relationships, understand the stakeholders' interests, and know how to achieve the best possible outcome;
• You have an affinity for—and preferably experience with—a dynamic, complex work environment, ideally in the healthcare sector;
• You are a skilled negotiator and have a strong sense of the organization’s overall interests.
