De Helling is a unique venue in Utrecht with a capacity of approximately 450 people. Our visitors and artists have their own (artistic) perspective on the world and don’t feel like just another face in the crowd. We want our staff to reflect our visitors and artists, whoever they are and whatever their preferences may be. De Helling stands for packed concerts, intimate performances, steamy club nights, urgent debates, and everything in between. With a mix of local acts, fresh new talent, and international stars, we offer a diverse and unique program. We’re one-of-a-kind in Utrecht, and our team is made up of die-hard music and culture lovers.

THE HELLING FOUNDATION IN UTRECHT IS SEEKING A BOARD SECRETARY
The board of De Helling consists of five members and has overall responsibility for the operation of De Helling. The board approves the long-term plan, the budget, and the annual plan. It meets every six weeks and serves as a sounding board for the director both during and outside of meetings.
We have an opening for a secretary and are specifically looking for someone with a legal and/or HR background. Ideally, you currently hold a position as a legal counsel or HR consultant, which means you are up to date on the latest developments and legislation in your field and have a strong professional network.
In general, De Helling is looking for a board member who has enough time (approximately 5 to 8 hours per month) to carry out the duties. We are looking for someone who can think outside the box, brings new energy and motivation, and is willing to serve as a resource for the director and offer advice, both when asked and on their own initiative.
Meetings are held monthly, and there is regular informal communication.
Board members do not receive compensation for their work. However, we greatly appreciate it when board members make a point of attending concerts at De Helling on a regular basis.
A diverse team makes us stronger. We warmly invite all applicants to apply, regardless of their cultural and/or social background.
Applications will be accepted until February 15. Please send a cover letter and resume to the board chair, Gwen Peroti, at directie@dehelling.nl. If you have any questions, please contact the executive director, Arlette de Jong, at arlette@dehelling.nl.
