Because where else but at the AUAS …

  • Are you part of a socially responsible organization?
  • Does your work have a visible positive impact on staff and students?
  • Are you a key player in the HR team’s policy development?
  • Connect your people and your organization
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments

Here's how you can make a difference

You will provide support and write

You serve as the key liaison within the HR Policy team. You support the HR Director and members of the HR team by coordinating the administrative decision-making process and preparing reports and annotations for various committees. In addition, you draft clear meeting minutes as needed and compile the necessary meeting materials. To provide the best possible support to the HR Director and members of the HR team, you stay informed about current HR-related developments within and around the university. You also assist in drafting reports and plans, the quarterly HR monitor, and you maintain the overview of the HR work agenda “Koers en Kompas” and coordinate the resulting actions.

You are the main point of contact

You will inform colleagues about decisions that have been made and follow up on substantive action items from meetings. Together with the HR team, you will ensure that the organization is kept well informed about these matters.

In short: maintaining an overview, organizing, and transparency are key aspects of your role.

What else you get

  • A job where you work both on the bustling Amstel Campus and from home or other locations.
  • You can choose whether you want to work full-time, part-time, or in the evenings. This is ideal if you want to combine this position with, for example, a job in the private sector.
  • A gross monthly salary ranging from €3,018.49 to €4,569.57 (scale 10 of the higher professional education collective bargaining agreement).
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.3% and vacation pay equal to 8% of your gross annual salary.
  • 428 vacation hours per year based on a 40-hour workweek.
  • Entitlement to various types of leave, such as paid and unpaid parental leave, care leave, adoption and foster care leave, and arrangements for older employees.
  • Depending on your situation, you can choose from one of the following options: a mileage allowance for your commute, an NS Business Card, an AUAS-provided bicycle, or a tax benefit when purchasing another bicycle. If you are unable to commute by private or public transportation—for example, due to a disability—we will work with you to explore your options.
  • Plenty of opportunities for professional development, including through our own AUAS Academy and Good Habitz’s online training courses.
  • Discounts on a wide range of services. These include books, cultural courses, software and hardware, and certain types of insurance.
  • We place a strong emphasis on your job satisfaction and work-life balance—as well as your well-being. For example, we provide resources to help you set up a healthy home office, and you can participate in our sports activities—designed specifically for AUAS employees—or at the USC sports center at a discounted rate. You can also access our (career) coaches and online tools designed to support your mental health.
  • A solid pension plan through ABP.
  • A laptop and a phone. You’ll also receive a monthly internet allowance of €50.
  • Last but not least: a workplace in a dynamic environment where you can collaborate with colleagues in a pleasant atmosphere. You can also connect with them outside of work, for example through our communities, such as HvAPrideHvA AlumniHvA UnitedJongHvA and FEM IT.

Creating Tomorrow in the HR Policy Department of the Executive Staff

The Executive Board and the AUAS as a whole support strategy and policy development, as well as quality monitoring. The Executive Staff is responsible for this.

We are a diverse group of about 200 professionals. Our teams consist of specialists, advisors, support staff, and program and project staff, and we work on a wide range of topics, such as education and research, human resources, communications, finance and control, digitalization, real estate and housing, legal affairs, institutional research, and integrated safety. Drawing on everyone’s field of expertise, we collaborate with one another and with others within the faculties and departments. And we do this for the entire AUAS! Can you imagine how large and complex the projects we work on are? And just how challenging this is?

The Executive Staff offers you a challenging and dynamic work environment. And no matter what your role is, you’ll build a large and inspiring network in no time.

Talent as a foundation, diversity as a strength

Of our more than 45,000 students and 4,500 staff members, no two are alike! Can you imagine how dynamic that is—that enormous variety of personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives? It’s important, too, because we believe that it is precisely thanks to that diversity that we perform better as an employer and as a university of applied sciences of and for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. We strive to see the diversity that Amsterdam has to offer reflected in our workforce. And to be an organization where every employee and student feels welcome, valued, and at home. So whoever you are: you are most welcome!
