Would you like to put your administrative experience to use where it really matters? Art.1 Midden Nederland—the statutory anti-discrimination body for the province of Utrecht—is looking for a new executive secretary. In this key role, you will make a direct contribution to equal treatment, strategic development, and the quality of governance at an organization with a broad social impact.

We want to strengthen our board with fresh perspectives. That is why we are specifically inviting young, ambitious people—preferably those with board experience—to apply. For us, diversity in ways of thinking, backgrounds, ages, and experiences is not merely a preference, but a prerequisite for doing good work.

What will you be doing?

As secretary, you are the organizational and administrative heart of the board. You:

  • Ensures high-quality decision-making and well-prepared board meetings.
  • Coordinates schedules, documents, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintains an overview of administrative processes and ensures transparent communication.
  • Works closely with the president and treasurer in a dedicated, professional setting.
  • Contributes to the strategic direction, integrity, and careful implementation.

Your work makes good governance possible—and, as a result, a province where discrimination is actively combated.

What are you bringing?

We are looking for someone who combines strong leadership skills with decisiveness and a modern perspective:

  • Administrative experience (preferred).
  • Commitment to equal treatment and anti-discrimination.
  • Analytical, collaborative, and independent.
  • A professional collaborative approach, befitting a serious social mission.
  • A relevant network in the province of Utrecht—or the ambition to build one.

What do we offer?

  • The opportunity to make a tangible social impact.
  • A role in which you can apply and expand your administrative experience.
  • A dedicated, professional, and highly skilled team.
  • An extensive network in government, education, social services, and the social sector.
  • A fixed fee for attending meetings.

Planning & Procedure

  • Deadline for responses: Monday, February 16, 2026.
  • Please send your application, including a cover letter and resume, to bestuur@art1mn.nl
  • Please note: If we receive enough applications, the job posting may close early.
  • Interviews: will be held on Wednesday, February 18 and 25, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (at our office in Utrecht; online interviews are available if necessary).
  • Start date: to be determined, preferably March 2026.
