The Concertgebouw Fund Foundation

The Concertgebouw Fund Foundation is a cultural public-benefit organization (ANBI) dedicated to fundraising, with the aim, among other things, of funding all maintenance and renovation work at the Concertgebouw. In addition, funds are raised for educational programs, enabling more than 20,000 children each year—often for the first time—to experience an educational interactive performance or a family concert at the Concertgebouw. The Fund also finances concerts that would not be possible without additional funding. Examples include concerts that attract as broad and diverse an audience as possible.

As a Project Manager at the Fund, you’ll work in one of the most beautiful locations in Amsterdam, right in the heart of the Concertgebouw, home to one of the world’s most stunning concert halls. Every day brings something new.

Who are you?

  • You are an experienced project manager: you enjoy managing multiple projects at once and working with a diverse group of professionals;
  • You love the performing arts and (classical) music, and you’re a good writer;
  • You are goal-oriented, customer-friendly, and service-oriented, flexible regarding working hours, and live in the Amsterdam area;
  • You are a strong planner and can work well on your own;
  • You have a degree at the associate’s level or higher, demonstrable knowledge of the classical music field—gained, for example, through a degree in musicology or conservatory studies—or extensive experience working at a theater or music company;
  • You have experience working in a fundraising or commercial environment and enjoy it;
  • We are looking for someone who can work four days a week (in the office).

No two people are alike. The Concertgebouw Fund strives to create a place where everyone feels welcome and safe—a place where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way.

What will you be doing?

  • Project management for all private concerts and events organized by the Concertgebouw Fund for (potential) donors, including the New Year’s Concert, the Garden and House Concerts, the Small Hall Anniversary Concert, and the Concertgebouw Dinner. In this role, you will work closely with producers and programmers;
  • Account Management for the VriendenLoterij;
  • Secretariat of the Board of the Concertgebouw Fund, which meets four times a year;
  • Project management for the Annual Report.

What is our team like?

You will be part of the Concertgebouw Fund team, which consists of four experienced fundraisers, relationship managers, and a director. You will work closely with the staff of the Concertgebouw, which is a separate organization.

What we offer:

  • A salary ranging from €3,320 to €4,414 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours per week) with 25 days of vacation per year;
  • You are accruing pension benefits;
  • You can take training courses to keep your knowledge up to date and further your career;
  • Free ticket program for employees;
  • A bicycle plan for up to €749, including VAT.

Application Process

If you think you’re the right fit for this position, please send your resume and cover letter to vacature@concertgebouw.nl by Friday, March 14. For more information about this position, please contact Eline Danker, director of the Concertgebouw Fund, at e.danker@concertgebouw.nl.

You will receive a response to your application by phone or email no later than 3 days after the job posting closes. Interviews will take place from March 17 to 19. If you are selected, a meeting to discuss your employment terms will be scheduled well before the end of March.

To ensure that all candidates are evaluated fairly, we ask all candidates the same questions during the selection process so that we can assess how well you meet the job requirements.
