Would you like to help us build the country’s largest queer film festival? Roze Filmdagen is looking for a Project Manager (x/f/m) for 32 hours per week. Your hours can be arranged in consultation. During the festival month (March), you must be available full-time.
Who are we?
Since 1996, we have been a constant artistic, empowering, and much-needed presence in the Dutch LGBTQ+ scene. The 12-day Roze Filmdagen takes place annually at Het Ketelhuis in Amsterdam. Thanks to its top-notch programming, the festival has earned a strong reputation among audiences, filmmakers, and festivals around the world. Through feature films, documentaries, short films, and online talk shows, the film festival aims to shed light on as many aspects of the LGBTQ+ spectrum as possible for a broad audience. Roze Filmdagen has a small professional staff and relies on numerous enthusiastic volunteers, working in close collaboration with the board.
Project Manager Profile:
- You are entrepreneurial and have extensive financial knowledge and experience. In addition, you are able to work in a small (ideological) organization.
- You are adept at handling the complexities of an organization that relies on volunteers.
- You are a team player and are used to working in a collaborative, equal-opportunity team.
- You are a networker with experience and a network within the cultural sector.
- You are passionate about the mission, vision, and artistic principles of Roze Filmdagen, as well as its LGBTQ+ audience.
- You have a college-level education and way of thinking, with demonstrable financial knowledge and experience.
- You have work experience in a similar position.
- For this position, it is important that you have a good command of the Dutch language.
What will you be doing?
- You will be part of a small team. In addition to the Festival Director, the team consists of the board, a marketing and communications specialist, a festival producer, volunteers, and interns.
- In the run-up to the festival, this team is growing as more volunteers join, and the board is also actively involved.
- Within this team, you will be responsible for operations, fundraising, and financial matters. You will carry out these responsibilities in close and collaborative partnership with the Festival Director and the board.
- You are responsible for the finances: in consultation with the treasurer, you will prepare and monitor the annual and festival budgets.
- You will be responsible for the administrative aspects of grant applications and, in collaboration with the treasurer, for financial reporting and final settlements with the various funds and grant providers.
- You will proactively seek out new sources of funding and develop a sponsorship policy. You will coordinate this with the Festival Director and the board.
- Together with the Festival Director, you will manage relationships with foundations, grant providers, and corporate partners.
