As a Project Manager for Integrated Social Services, you’ll play a key role in supporting vulnerable residents of Amsterdam through interventions focused on food, shelter, medical care, and more. You will lead a team of specialists, oversee the big picture and annual plans, and work closely with partner organizations to make a real impact. You are strategically strong, an experienced coach, and know how to build sustainable partnerships.
Are you an experienced project manager who identifies with a coaching leadership style and building bridges? Do you recognize opportunities and know how to link them to developments and relationships to deliver impactful social services?
The project manager leads the Integrated Assistance team, which consists of approximately 8 employees. The project manager reports to the Operational Team Leader for the Amsterdam-Amstelland region. This position is based in Amsterdam.
The long-term (economic) consequences of COVID-19, a housing crisis, high energy costs, and many other global and local social challenges mean that in Amsterdam we see many people in need who have nowhere to turn for support. Or people who, without guidance, cannot find their way to help. This includes both Amsterdam residents with legal residency status and those without valid residency documents, who often face multiple challenges and are no longer able to find a way out on their own.
Through an integrated approach to assistance, these vulnerable individuals are supported in meeting their basic needs through interventions focused on food, hygiene, shelter, access to medical care, mental health support, and opportunities for self-reliance. Where possible, efforts are made to refer them to other appropriate services to truly help them move forward.
As Project Manager for Integrated Social Services, you are responsible for organizing the implementation and further development of the aforementioned interventions. You lead the team and work with them to explore how the existing approach and the relevant interventions can reinforce one another. You do this with a keen eye for social developments, opportunities, and challenges, and in close collaboration with partner organizations.
We value diversity—in background and experience. We need people from diverse cultural backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and age groups to fulfill our mission.
The work you do is socially relevant and makes a difference. Sometimes, that can also take a toll on you. That’s why we care about your well-being and offer tools to help you find a healthy balance. We are a flexible and people-oriented workplace that encourages initiative and professional growth.
The salary for this position falls under pay scale 11 of the NRK collective bargaining agreement, depending on experience (min. €3,869.44 to max. €5,031.20 gross per month for a full-time 40-hour workweek). A one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.
In addition to your monthly salary, you’ll receive an Individual Choice Budget (ICB) of 18.9%, which includes vacation pay and a year-end bonus. You can choose how to receive or use this budget. There are also various additional benefits, such as a pension plan, travel allowance, and excellent opportunities for professional development. You’ll also be provided with a laptop and a cell phone.
