Platform ACCT is working to build a resilient cultural and creative sector. Through the fairPACCT program, we translate the Fair Practice Code into concrete guidelines and tools to put fair pay into practice. As program secretary, you will connect stakeholders in the sector and contribute to the development of agreements and tools.

About Platform ACCT

The Platform for the Future of the Cultural and Creative Labor Market (Platform ACCT) is building a resilient sector. Our focus is on creating better working conditions, strengthening long-term employability, and increasing the earning potential of everyone working in the cultural and creative sector. Through collaboration and knowledge sharing, we are building a sector that is ready for the future.

Platform ACCT was established in 2020 as a project organization. Since January 2025, we have been the cross-sectoral BIS institution for the labor market: a support organization subsidized by the government through the Cultural Basic Infrastructure. As such, Platform ACCT plays a nationally significant role in developing and strengthening the sector’s labor market. One of our key missions is to improve working conditions and reach agreements on fair pay.

What is fairPACCT?

The fairPACCT program translates the Fair Practice Code into practical tools for the cultural and creative sector, with a focus on fair pay. We facilitate dialogue among relevant parties through “sector roundtables.” In addition to human resources, we have a budget for research, tool development, communication, and guidance from an independent chairperson.

FairPACCT was launched in 2021 and will run at least through 2028. The program focuses on the active involvement of representatives from the workforce, employers and clients, vocational education, and other intermediaries. Over the past five years, 15 sector roundtables have been established for various disciplines (including pop music and film/AV) and professional groups (including marketing and communications, and event technicians). These sector roundtables will continue in the coming years and be supplemented with new initiatives. We are also working with the sector roundtables to foster the sub-sector’s own responsibility for maintaining an ongoing dialogue on employment conditions and for maintaining the fair pay tools that have been developed.

Since one of our two current program secretaries is retiring soon, we are looking for a successor.

What will you be doing?

You will work closely with the fairPACCT program manager and report to them. You will also collaborate with the other program secretary, the communications officer, and other team members at Platform ACCT. Your responsibilities will include:

  • You will assist existing industry roundtables in developing their products and support the implementation of the resulting tools within the sub-sector.
  • You will assist the chairs of “your” chain tables with the practical and organizational preparation, implementation, and follow-up of initiatives, as well as with financial and administrative tasks. You will serve as their sounding board on process and content. An external note-taker will handle the minute-taking.
  • You will oversee the supply chain roundtable process, including interim working group meetings and the assignment of research or tool development tasks. You will also serve as the point of contact for all stakeholders involved in your supply chain roundtables.
  • You will set up new roundtable discussions, determine their composition in consultation with the fairPACCT program manager, and find an independent chairperson.
  • You will draft the substantive documents required for the supply chain meetings.
  • You will monitor and ensure the continued relevance of the tools developed and oversee their technical management in collaboration with external parties.
  • You will work with the fairPACCT team on communications materials and events where the program is showcased.

What do you bring to the table?

  • You have experience managing and overseeing projects and bridging the gap between policy issues and the day-to-day work of creative professionals.
  • You enjoy helping to develop technical instruments and (calculation) tools to make complex rate structures or functions easier to understand.
  • You can make a realistic estimate of the time, personnel, and resources required for the work and adjust the schedule accordingly.
  • You write clear and accurate texts, express yourself in accessible Dutch, and have an excellent command of the language.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the subsidy system and employment conditions within the cultural and creative sector is appreciated. If you also understand how industry organizations, their representatives, and their constituencies operate, that would be ideal.

It would be great if you already have experience with similar work and could briefly describe it in your cover letter. If you haven’t done everything yet, please know that at Platform ACCT, we have the time and resources available to help you develop further.

It is an advantage if you have experience in the cultural and creative sector or are currently working (part-time) as a creator within the sector. This combination is quite common within our team.

This is how you like to work

  • You have an independent, methodical approach and a knack for fostering collaboration among different individuals and organizations. fairPACCT involves a wide range of individuals and organizations, from policymakers to funding bodies to creators.
  • You’re resilient, and when faced with resistance, you look for alternatives or unconventional solutions that actually work. In this way, you help parties with differing interests move toward a shared outcome.
  • You place a high priority on achieving results. The daily mix of operational tasks and substantive issues energizes you.
  • You feel at home in an independent organization that serves both workers and employers in the sector, and you understand how to handle that role with care.

The success of our organization depends entirely on the quality of our people and the ideas they bring to the table. Relevant insights and innovative initiatives stem from a blend of cultures, knowledge, and experience. Whether you have a unique perspective on the world, bring fresh creative energy, or have a background not yet represented on our team: we encourage you to apply. Together, we want to push boundaries and make a positive impact!

What do we offer?

At Platform ACCT, we work in a hybrid model, and you can schedule your hours flexibly. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we have workspaces available at our office in Amsterdam.

You will be offered a 24-hour-per-week position for one year, with the possibility of a permanent contract. The salary is based on pay scale 8–9 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement (which we follow): €3,396–€5,705 (for a 36-hour workweek). You will accrue pension benefits, receive vacation pay, and a year-end bonus. Secondary employment benefits include training opportunities, a work-from-home policy, a contribution toward phone and internet costs, and reimbursement for commuting expenses.

You’ll become part of a close-knit, hardworking, and friendly team dedicated to sustainably strengthening the labor market in the cultural and creative sectors. We’re continuing to build our organization by working closely together, making mistakes along the way, learning from them, and looking out for one another.

“Over the past four years of fairPACCT, we’ve made significant strides toward fair pay across 15 sub-sectors and professional groups. But we’re not there yet! Put your knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to work to make the cultural and creative sector a healthy and future-proof industry. Fair pay is nothing more than the norm.”

Are you excited?

Please apply by Monday, June 1, at the latest, by sending your cover letter and resume to info@platformacct.nl.
