We are looking for a general board member for the Platform ACCT board with a background in arts education. This connection is important to Platform ACCT, as this is where the professionals of the future are trained. If you work in arts education but don’t have much experience with board work yet, please apply! We are open to a junior board member.
Since 2020, Platform ACCT (Labor Market for the Cultural and Creative Future) has been working to improve the labor market position of workers in the cultural and creative sector. Through programs such as fairPACCT, Werktuig PPO, Oog voor Impuls, digiPACCT, and Leve het Geven, we work with social partners, government agencies, and industry organizations to improve working conditions, promote sustainable employability, and enhance earning potential for all workers in the sector.
In a short period of time, we have grown into a recognizable and valued player in the cultural and creative sector. The recognition we received on January 1, 2025, with our inclusion in the Basic Cultural Infrastructure (BIS), confirms that position. As a network organization, we consciously position ourselves among partners in the field: from social partners and government agencies to educational institutions and sectoral organizations.
We are seeking a general board member to represent our partner organizations (including cross-sectoral BIS institutions, sectoral institutes, arts education institutions, and advocacy groups) on the foundation’s board. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a background in arts education. A board member from the arts education sector will promote collaboration and the integration of educational perspectives into the policies and activities of Platform ACCT.
Are you working in arts education but don’t have much experience with board work yet? Apply! We’re looking for a junior board member and offer coaching and guidance to help you develop your leadership skills within Platform ACCT.
The board of Platform ACCT consists of representatives of employees, employers/clients, and partners, as well as an independent chairperson. The board has deliberately chosen this governance model: as a network organization, this reflects the sector’s shared ownership. Together with the director, the board is responsible for ensuring the organization functions effectively.
We are looking for someone who works in arts education and can bridge the gap between education and the job market in the cultural and creative sector. Board experience is not required. We are explicitly open to (junior) board candidates with an executive role in education, such as teachers, program coordinators, lecturers, or program managers. As a junior board member with us, you will be given the space to grow, with appropriate guidance, coaching, and training opportunities to (further) develop your board skills.
The success of our organization depends entirely on the quality of our people and the ideas they bring to the table. Relevant insights and innovative initiatives stem from a blend of cultures, knowledge, and experience. Whether you have a unique perspective on the world, bring fresh creative energy, or have a background not yet represented on our board: we encourage you to apply. Together, we want to push boundaries and make a positive impact.
The board meets 6 to 7 times a year, usually in person for 2 hours (in Amsterdam). You prepare for the meetings using documents sent to you in advance. In addition, you are expected to attend a number of relevant gatherings, including the annual Platform ACCT networking event each fall. If you participate in external meetings on behalf of the board or take on additional tasks, the time commitment may increase.
This is an unpaid position. Board members receive an attendance allowance: in 2026, €360.63 (gross) per board meeting, plus an annual amount of €1,001.04 (gross) for other meetings and activities. Travel and other expenses are fully reimbursed.
Please respond by Wednesday, May 13, at the latest, by sending your cover letter and resume to the board secretary, Wim Kronemeijer: wim@platformacct.nl.
Introductory interviews will take place on Thursday, June 4, at our office in Amsterdam. You will meet with two board members and two executive board members. Appointment will be made at the board meeting on June 18, 2026.
Do you have any questions about the position? Please contact Sjoerd Feitsma, Director of Platform ACCT, at sjoerd@platformacct.nl or 06-16472797.
