The Concertgebouw is one of the most visited concert halls in the world, hosting more than 700 concerts and welcoming over 730,000 visitors each year. Our halls are renowned for their excellent acoustics—classical music sounds better here than anywhere else. But we also offer many other genres, such as pop, video game music, jazz, film music, and hip-hop. This allows us to appeal to an increasingly diverse audience, which will remain a key focus for us in the coming years.

We generate 95% of our revenue ourselves. With a passionate, close-knit, and friendly team, we ensure that every visitor has an unforgettable experience.

As the first Reception and Corporate Security staff member at the Concertgebouw, you’ll work in one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, where something unique happens every day. Thanks to your sense of responsibility and attention to safety, you and your colleagues will help create the exceptional experience that the Concertgebouw offers its visitors and artists.

Who are you?

You are a certified security guardwith leadership skills who can work independently. You also have sufficient technical knowledge to resolve minor malfunctions. Experience with Office 365 is a plus. You are always alert and keep a cool head, even under pressure. You truly know how to make a difference at crucial moments. You work variable shifts that alternate between busy and quiet periods. Furthermore:

  • You have strong communication skills, and any experience with intercultural communication is a plus.
  • Customer service comes naturally to you.
  • You have a first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one.

No two people are alike! The Concertgebouw strives to be an organization where everyone feels welcome and safe—where employees can be themselves and are given the freedom and recognition they need to contribute to our mission in their own way:

The Concertgebouw brings together a diverse audience and enriches their lives with a sublime musical experience

That’s why we’re curious to find out who you are!

What will you be doing?

As the first point of contact for Reception and Corporate Security, you are responsible for closely monitoring who and what enters and exits the building, given its semi-open layout. You are often the first person our guests speak to, and you direct them to the appropriate staff members. You serve as the primary point of contact for both customers and employees.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the concierge desk.
  • Preparing the work schedule and processing leave requests.
  • Participation in the 24-hour schedule (day, evening, and night shifts).
  • Enforcing the current access and parking policies.
  • Registering and managing lost and found items.
  • Issuance and management of keys, phones, and other equipment.
  • Ensuring that goods reach the right people.
  • Play a role in the current emergency plan.
  • Operating the telephone switchboard when the operator is absent.

  • A pension plan.
  • 25 days of vacation.
  • A dynamic, informal work environment.
  • A bicycle plan for up to €749, including VAT.
  • The opportunity to take yoga classes.
  • Free ticket program for employees.
