The Netherlands Film Fund is the leading cultural fund for Dutch film. As a national cultural fund, we promote the storytelling of narratives and experiences that resonate with a diverse audience.
The Film Fund is an independent administrative body funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science (OCW). The Fund’s primary mission is to finance films and film-related activities.
The Fund focuses on the professional, independent film sector and provides financial support for the development, production, and distribution of film productions and film-related activities.
We fund film productions by everyone from emerging talent to highly experienced filmmakers, who contribute to a diverse and distinctive range of films. In addition, the Fund supports film-related activities such as festivals, film gatherings, film education hubs, research, and training.
This task remains as significant and challenging as ever. The media landscape is international, complex, and rapidly changing. All these developments place high demands on the resilience and agility of the sector, the Film Fund, and its strategic partners. In recent years, the Film Fund’s scope of work and budget have grown; at the same time, the size of the organization and the complexity of its activities have increased. Issues such as diversity and inclusion, regional distribution, artificial intelligence, and making the film sector more sustainable are high on the agenda.
The Supervisory Board consists of seven members, including the chairperson. The term of office for members of the Supervisory Board is four years, with the possibility of a single reappointment for a maximum of four years.
The chair and members of the Supervisory Board are appointed by the Minister of Education, Culture, and Science upon the recommendation of the Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of the Film Fund adhere to the Code of Governance Culture in their work.
They and the Audit and s Committee meet four times a year. Members receive an honorarium.
Due to the expiration of one of our members’ terms, we are seeking a new member for the Supervisory Board who will also serve as chair of the Audit Committee. The chair of the Audit Committee oversees financial management, risk management, and the Operations Department, which includes IT and cybersecurity.
Candidates who can contribute to this are warmly invited to apply.
