Program Manager

As a program manager, you’ll bridge the gap between the (latent) needs of the Westland community and our services. Together with the project coordinators and partners, you’ll develop a compelling vision of what a library is and does, and translate that vision into inspiring programs and projects. In addition, you will promote substantive and procedural coherence among the program lines, ensuring that we make optimal use of our knowledge and resources.

What will you be doing?

• Together with the project coordinators, you will develop a clear and compelling vision for learning, language development, reading promotion, and media literacy. This vision will be reflected in engaging programs that meet the needs of our residents.
• You will manage the project coordinators and support their professional development.
• You will motivate and support the coordinators in achieving the goals within the program lines and staying within budget.
• You are a member of the management team, and together with your fellow management team members, you develop the organization’s strategic policy.
• You are responsible for working with the finance, planning & control staff member to provide management information that helps program coordinators and the management team achieve their goals as effectively as possible.
• Together with our partners, you will translate the (latent) needs of the Westland community into successful library services.
• In the absence of the managing director, you will serve as the acting director.

What are you bringing?

• You work and think at the higher vocational education (HBO+) level
• You are a strong advocate for stakeholders, able to build connections between various interest groups and represent the library at the strategic level.
• You have up-to-date knowledge of business operations and change management and know how to apply this knowledge in your role as a member of the management team.
• You have leadership qualities, you know yourself well, and you know how to motivate employees by building connections with them.
• You have experience in program and project management.
• You have a strong interest in learning, language development, reading promotion, and media literacy, and you have a clear vision in these areas.
• You have a driver's license and access to a car.

• A salary based on pay scale 11 (up to €5,527 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek) with opportunities for advancement to pay scale 12
• Working hours to be determined by mutual agreement
• A one-year appointment with the intention of establishing a long-term partnership
