Product Group Manager, Amsterdam East Neighborhood Team

Who are we?

Dynamo encourages and supports Amsterdammers of all ages—from 0 to 100+—to get off to a promising start and actively participate in society. Our area of operation covers the Oost, Zuid, West, and Centrum districts. In the coming years, Dynamo will work with partners to strengthen its comprehensive range of services, which are tailored to the lives of Amsterdammers and the challenges in the neighborhood. The organization consists of three divisions: Childcare/Preschools, Welfare & Youth & Youth Work, and the Amsterdam East Neighborhood Team. In total, Dynamo employs approximately 400 staff members and 500 volunteers.

The Amsterdam East Neighborhood Team launched on April 1, 2021, with the goal of supporting Amsterdam residents with questions about care, housing, health, work, finances, socializing, or safety. Citywide, we collaborate with the other six neighborhood team organizations to provide uniform services across all city districts, while taking into account the unique context of each neighborhood. The initial phase of launch and transition is complete, but we are still actively working with our partners and client. In the coming years, we will continue to collaborate with them on the transformation within the Social Domain.

What will you be doing?

This is a strategic role. As Product Group Manager, you will lead the entire Buurtteam Amsterdam Oost product group under the direction of the Director/Manager. In total, you will be responsible for approximately 120 employees (105 FTE) and approximately €11 million in annual revenue. You will directly supervise the team leaders of the four neighborhood teams, the debt counseling team leader, and the project leaders. You will achieve the operational, policy, financial, and personnel objectives for Buurtteam Amsterdam Oost and ensure that services align with market developments and requirements in both the short and long term.

Together with the Product Group Manager for Well-being, the Product Group Manager for Preschools, the Finance and Operations Manager, the Executive Secretary, and the Director/CEO, you form the organization’s Management Team. Together, you set the course and direction for the entire organization and ensure a comprehensive range of services for Amsterdammers from 0 to 100+. Dynamo operates in Amsterdam East with area teams, within which disciplines from the various product groups collaborate to provide a comprehensive range of services for Amsterdammers. We aim to further strengthen this in the coming years, as outlined in our 2023–2026 strategy (draft appendix).

You will represent the Amsterdam East Neighborhood Team in urban consultations and actively contribute to the transformation of the Social Domain in Amsterdam. To this end, you will maintain an extensive network.

What do you bring to the table?

• Extensive experience managing a product unit or division in a complex environment
• Knowledge of management techniques, organizational, human resources, financial, and quality policies
• Experience working in a multicultural environment
• Enthusiasm and passion for our target audience and the social sector
• Proactive and enterprising in identifying trends and developments and translating them into policy and operations
• You have experience in learning and development and in implementing a PDCA cycle at all levels
• An appreciative leadership style focused on personal leadership and warm professionalism
• Experience with change management—and in particular, embedding and consolidating it—is a plus
