Proud of your work
We want residents of Zaandam-Oost to live long, healthy lives. That may sound obvious, but it isn’t. Poor health makes it harder to participate in society, to get ahead, and to live the life you want. That is why, through the Zaandam-Oost Pact, we are focusing on the next generation. Because every child and every parent, no matter where they live or grow up, deserves a healthy life and the freedom to make the most of themselves and their lives.
As a project manager within the Pact Zaandam-Oost program office, you will lead the Health program. Together with partner organizations, you will work to achieve shared goals, with residents’ perspectives serving as the guiding principle. You will develop a comprehensive approach in collaboration with partners, foster cooperation, and ensure that resources and funding are utilized effectively. You monitor the progress of implementation, both in terms of content and finances. In addition, you are a driver of innovation: you identify opportunities, bring energy to the network, and know how to translate new ideas into concrete initiatives that contribute to a healthier Zaandam-Oost. It is a role where you can truly make a difference in reducing health disparities in Zaandam-Oost.
You will provide direction for the health initiative by developing a clear vision and strategy and, together with partners, translating these into concrete plans and actions in the implementation plan. Examples of interventions and approaches include deploying key health advocates, contributing to neighborhood-based network care, offering social consultations at the primary care physician’s office, and organizing group exercise activities.

Your colleagues. At the Pact Zaandam-Oost
As a health program manager for the Zaandam-Oost Pact, you will collaborate with partners in the healthcare, social services, and health sectors, as well as with residents. These include the municipality, sports organizations, general practitioners and paramedics, neighborhood social teams and the youth team, the Municipal Health Service (GGD), health insurers, mental health organizations, and the local hospital. We explore and investigate how we can better align with the lives of residents in Zaandam-Oost.
Just be yourself. With your empathy, you’re able to understand the dynamics of the neighborhoods in Zaandam-Oost and the differences between them. You can also empathize with the residents of Zaandam-Oost. You use your analytical skills to analyze complex issues and challenges and find practical solutions. You know how to balance long-term work with interventions in the here and now. You can operate at various levels (residents, liaison officers, aldermen, or a minister) and know how to bring people together. With your (political) administrative sensitivity, you know how to engage different administrative bodies (e.g., the municipality, medical centers) and initiate and maintain collaborations with the goal of a joint approach.
