  • Do you contribute ideas on how to optimize learning in professional practice and within a rich, flexible (digital) learning and assessment environment?
  • You will serve as a resource and advisor to faculty, program directors, and other stakeholders in the field of educational development, such as active (digital) teaching methods and internationalization;
  • In doing so, you will take into account national policies and AUAS policies. You will collaborate with colleagues from programs and departments within the faculty and the AUAS;
  • You will work with faculty and assessment committees to design assessment policies and programs aimed at improving the quality of assessments;
  • you help bridge the gap between education and practice-oriented research in the curriculum;
  • you contribute to the learning environment that supports lifelong development within FMR;
  • share your expertise in the above-mentioned areas by, among other things, organizing and conducting training sessions and workshops for teaching teams and other stakeholders;
  • Share your expertise in these areas by designing accessible and visually appealing information and resources for teachers and other groups.

 You have:

  • a master’s degree in education (or equivalent);
  • experience as an educational consultant;
  • a demonstrable affinity for higher vocational education and experience working in a large, complex organization.

What else do you bring to the table?

We are looking for someone with a proactive, collaborative, and flexible attitude. Someone who is a strong communicator both in writing and verbally, has a sense of humor, and shares knowledge through dialogue with a diverse range of stakeholders. Someone who engages in collaboration with the training department and the knowledge center. Someone who is attuned to social trends, is innovative, and is able to translate policy recommendations into concrete products. In short, a thinker and a doer! Furthermore, you are able to view issues from a diverse perspective, as is relevant in our changing society and the city of Amsterdam.

Who are we?

The O&O|FMR department consists of ten professionals who advise and support the academic programs, research groups, other administrative departments, the dean, and the director of operations within FMR. The department works on behalf of and provides solicited and unsolicited advice to the executive board, the academic programs, and the research groups, thereby contributing to the quality of higher professional education, practice-oriented research, and the connection between education, research, and professional practice. O&O|FMR consists of three core teams with diverse areas of expertise: Quality and Accreditation, Educational Development, and Student Affairs. As an educational advisor, you will join the Educational Development team.
