The Boekman Foundation, the national knowledge center for art, culture, and policy, is seeking, effective January 1 of next year:two members for the Supervisory Board
The Boekman Foundation conducts research on data, trends, and developments in the cultural sector and cultural policy. We explore and highlight key issues, both on our own initiative and often in collaboration with other organizations. In this way, we help to expand and share knowledge about the cultural field, including through the annual Culture Monitor, the magazine Boekman, programs, and meetings. We also offer our users an extensive collection on arts and cultural policy. The Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science supports our work with a structural grant.
Due to the expiration of the maximum term of office for two current members, we are seeking two successors:
As a member of the Supervisory Board, you will be part of a collegial team of (up to) seven members. You will meet an average of five times a year. Together with the other supervisors, you will oversee the organization’s general direction. Collectively, you will serve as a sounding board for the executive director, while maintaining a balance between critical detachment and substantive engagement. You will be appointed for a term of four years, with the possibility of reappointment for a maximum of one additional term.
To ensure a broad, comprehensive perspective, it is important that the Supervisory Board comprises members with a wide range of expertise, perspectives, backgrounds, and networks. The guiding principle is diversity in—among other things—gender, age, cultural background, and social status. The Supervisory Board endorses the Cultural Governance Code and the Diversity & Inclusion Code. The full profile of the Supervisory Board is attached.
For more information about the position, please contact Jan Jaap Knol, Managing Director, at06-11473001.
