
The Province of Limburg is seeking members for the Cultural Infrastructure Monitoring Committee for the 2025–2028 term.
The Cultural Infrastructure Monitoring Committee 2025–2028 (hereinafter referred to as the Monitoring Committee) has been established by the Provincial Executive to monitor the institutions receiving subsidies under the Cultural Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme 2025–2028. We are seeking members for the Monitoring Committee.
The Cultural Infrastructure Monitoring Committee 2025–2028 monitors, on behalf of the Provincial Executive, the artistic, financial, and organizational development of the institutions receiving grants under the Cultural Infrastructure Grant Program 2025–2028, by:
In carrying out these tasks, the Monitoring Committee must be familiar with, or be able to obtain information about, and take into account:
The Monitoring Committee consists of 10 to 15 members. While suitability is the primary criterion, the aim is to achieve a diverse composition in terms of gender, age, cultural background, and geographic representation.
The Province of Limburg supports the Monitoring Committee through its administrative secretariat.
The Appointments Policy Framework 2.0 applies to the appointment of members of the Monitoring Committee.
The time required for the work will vary over the 2025–2028 period, with an annual peak during the fall monitoring round. Each monitoring round will involve approximately six meetings, each lasting at least half a day.
For each subsidized institution, two members are designated for monitoring. Each institution is required to conduct a minimum of one and a maximum of two visits per year to observe activities and report on them.
The members of the Monitoring Committee receive compensation for attending the meetings of the Monitoring Committee in accordance with thecurrent regulation on the legal status of local political officeholders in the Province of Limburg. The compensation for meetings in which the monitoring discussions take place is equal to twice the amount specified in Article 2.4.1, paragraph 1, of theLegal Status Decree for Decentralized Political Officeholders. For all other meetings, the compensation per meeting is calculated at a rate of one.
In addition, travel and accommodation expenses may be reimbursed pursuant to the aforementioned Amending Regulation.

When filling vacancies, the Province of Limburg places a high priority on transparency, diversity, and integrity. Membership on the Monitoring Committee is incompatible with membership in the Provincial Council, the Provincial Executive, or the position of civil servant with the Province of Limburg. Similarly, positions such as board or executive membership in institutions subsidized by the Province of Limburg under the Cultural Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme 2025–2028 are not compatible with membership on the Monitoring Committee.
The Province of Limburg therefore appoints only independent experts as committee members.

In accordance with the Policy Framework for Appointments and Shareholder Nominations (Policy Framework for Appointments 2.0), committee members are requested to sign a declaration of integrity.
At the end of the selection process, we will ask the selected candidates to apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and to submit it to us upon approval by Justis.
