About Kunstlinie | The cultural heart of Almere
Kunstlinie is Almere’s vibrant hub for art and culture, featuring three theater halls and seven exhibition spaces. We are the cultural heart of a city that is constantly evolving. We bring color and meaning to everyday life, encourage dialogue, and foster imagination for the future.
Our programming embodies the spirit of the city: from the Zaal X platform for The Culture to urban programming that actively engages residents in current issues. We contribute to city festivals such as Keti Koti, Alluminous, and the student festival Breach, and each year we present around 225 performances, festivals, concerts, and exhibitions—ranging from innovative experiments to established names.

Your role
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the marketing team. You are a coach and an inspiration, and you serve as a bridge between programming, the public, and the city.
You work both strategically and hands-on, and:
- Actively goes out into the city to gather stories from residents and translate them into marketing and communication;
- Enhances the visibility of Kunstlinie and builds relationships with various target audiences;
- Creates an inclusive communication style that welcomes and represents everyone;
- Develops strategies and translates them into concrete plans and actions;
- Develops new ways to reach audiences, both online and offline;
- Leads a team of 5 colleagues and manages the marketing budget;
- Inspires the team to experiment, grow, and achieve success together;
- Brings Kunstlinie’s mission to life with energy and creativity.
You will be part of the stage and exhibition programming teams and will work closely with the managers of both programs. You will be responsible for developing a marketing strategy that best showcases Almere’s diversity and Kunstlinie’s unique programming.
What you bring to the table
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing and experience in management or project management;
- An interest in the performing arts and visual arts;
- Creative, strategic, and hands-on: from concept to execution;
- Strong communication skills, able to work autonomously and independently within established guidelines;
- Experience with (online) marketing, community building, ticket sales, and Google Analytics;
- An eye for what’s happening in the city and the energy to turn that into impactful actions;
- A coach and an inspiration, capable of motivating the team and achieving results;
- Curious, sociable, confident, and a visible presence within the team and the city.

Terms of Employment
This position is classified under the Dutch Performing Arts Collective Bargaining Agreement, Scale 8 (up to €5,152.86 per month for full-time employment). In addition, you will receive:
- A contract for 32 hours per week, initially for one year with the possibility of a permanent position;
- 8% vacation pay and a year-end bonus;
- Travel expense reimbursement;
