Healthcare is constantly changing. Laws and regulations are evolving rapidly. And behind every record is a client who counts on receiving the right care at the right time. As a Care Control Manager, you play a key role in this. You move seamlessly between content and process, monitor the quality of our records, and contribute to Arkin’s financial health.

If you thrive on complex challenges, if you love to blaze new trails, and if you enjoy using your expertise to improve healthcare, then this could very well be your next step.

In this role, you will lead two experienced teams that are fully committed to ensuring that our care records are accurate and meaningful. Together, you will ensure that our records meet all current requirements of the various funding programs, such as those under the Youth Act, WMO, WLZ, ZVW, FZ, etc. In doing so, you will also ensure that this reliable information is available to support practitioners in providing quality care.

You’ll work closely with colleagues in clinical care, Finance & Control, Planning & Control, and healthcare administration. You’ll contribute ideas for smart processes, identify risks, develop control measures, and ensure they’re effectively implemented throughout the organization. You’ll translate the insights you gain into policies that work in practice—and that will help Arkin stay future-proof.

As a manager, you are visible and approachable. You foster a culture of learning, openness, and professionalism, encouraging your employees to look beyond the rules. You guide them in maintaining the integrity of our control framework and involve them in the changes needed to remain agile.

You also play a key role with external funders. In discussions with health insurers, you are the one responsible for data reporting practices and coordinating data quality. You know where opportunities lie and ensure that Arkin remains committed to fulfilling all agreements.

What makes this position special?

You are at the very heart of both patient care and operational management. You provide reports and insights that make a difference, advise management and senior leadership, and lead projects that directly impact how we deliver care. You combine analytical skills with people-centered leadership, strategy with execution, and always stay focused on the bigger picture: providing clients with the best possible care.

We offer you:

You’ll be joining a large, socially responsible organization where you’ll work alongside passionate professionals who are truly dedicated to their craft. At Arkin, you’ll have the freedom to build, grow, and think innovatively.

You can count on:

  • Terms of employment in accordance with the GGZ Collective Bargaining Agreement, scale 65 (min. €5,140 and max. €6,716 gross based on a 36-hour workweek);
  • This is a position for 32 to 36 hours per week, with the intention of converting it to a permanent position if the candidate performs well;
  • An end-of-year bonus of 8.33% and 8.33% vacation pay;
  • You are building up a solid retirement pension with the Healthcare & Welfare Pension Fund.

In addition, Arkin offers a number of attractive employment benefits:

  • For commuting and business travel, you will receive a second-class transit pass, which can also be used for OV-fiets, or a mileage allowance;
  • Discounts on insurance from Univé and Centraal Beheer;
  • A work-from-home policy that includes reimbursement for setting up a workspace and compensation for days worked from home;
  • With 11 specialties across various locations, Arkin also offers many long-term opportunities for your professional development and personal growth. To this end, we offer a wide range of training programs;
  • A flexible benefits plan that allows you to use your gross salary for additional vacation time, a bicycle purchase, and supplemental travel expenses;
  • For your well-being, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement, you’ll receive an annual wellness budget of €1,000 (pro-rated based on your employment status) and an annual vitality budget of up to €100 (for permanent employees working at least 18 hours per week), as well as access to the Nrgize platform to participate in activities such as boot camp, yoga, and salsa dancing. In addition, you’ll receive unlimited access to GoodHabitz’s online course offerings.

What do you bring to the table?

You thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy bringing structure to complex issues. You move easily between substance and relationships, and you know how to get your colleagues on board with changes that may sometimes seem abstract and technical—but ultimately are simply about providing good care.

We’d be a great fit if you have:

  • A university degree and at least several years of managerial experience within a complex organization.
  • Proven experience in control, finance, audit, or compliance, preferably in mental health care.
  • In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations governing mental health care financing, including those under the Youth Act, the Social Support Act (WMO), the Long-Term Care Act (WLZ), the Health Insurance Act (ZVW), and the Health Care Act (FZ).
  • Understanding of AO/IB; knowledge of EPD systems is a plus.
  • The ability to create clarity and predictability within a team that operates under high quality standards.
  • Analytical skills, strong communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt to whatever is needed at the moment.

A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is a standard part of our hiring process, ensuring that we work together to create a safe and reliable work environment.
