Care Control Manager

What will you be doing?

As a Care Control Manager, you are responsible for leading teams that play an active role in monitoring the quality of care documentation, thereby ensuring accurate, timely, and complete care documentation and billing. You will work closely with various departments to ensure that healthcare processes comply with laws and regulations, quality standards, and the requirements of the various funding streams in mental health care, and that these are adequately translated into internal policies.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing internal control processes, advising internal stakeholders on compliance issues, and training Arkin employees. The Healthcare Control Manager leads two expert teams capable of thoroughly understanding the registration and billing process, identifying risks, and establishing appropriate control measures, periodically reviewing them, and reporting on them to internal and external stakeholders.

As a coaching manager, you stay closely involved in the work and serve as a point of contact and sounding board for team members. You are approachable, provide clear guidelines, manage based on jointly established KPIs, and encourage team members to take personal responsibility. You support the organization by reporting and providing solicited (and unsolicited) advice to strategic/tactical management and the executive board on trends and discrepancies in healthcare delivery, thereby contributing to financially sound operations and reliable revenue. You lead working groups and projects, maintain a visible presence within specialties and business units, and cultivate various internal and external relationships.

You will manage the HT control framework, report on it, and discuss it with health insurers, and advise the organization on compliance issues while monitoring financial and process risks.

Within the dynamic Finance & Control department, which consists of approximately 150 employees, you will lead a team of 23 enthusiastic and driven professionals at Zorgcontrol. You will work closely with other departments within the division, such as Financial Administration, Planning & Control, and Healthcare Administration. You will report to the Director of Finance & Control, and together with the management team, you will form a close-knit team dedicated to ensuring quality and compliance within Arkin.

What do you bring to the table?

We are looking for a manager with a solid background in healthcare management who can not only lead and coach, but also takes an empathetic and consultative approach. You have the ability to untangle complex issues, set priorities, and work collaboratively with the team in a results-oriented manner to achieve our goals.

Ideally, you should also have:

• University-level work and thinking skills;
• At least 3 years of management experience within a complex organization;
• Proven experience in a finance, control, audit, or compliance role, preferably within the mental health sector;
• Thorough knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations governing mental health care financing;
• Enthusiasm for encouraging Team Zorgcontrol employees in their proactive approach and role as business partners;
• Knowledge of AO/IB; knowledge of EPD is a plus;
• Ensure a consistent approach within the Care Control team. In doing so, you will ensure clarity, structure, and predictability;
• Excellent communication and analytical skills;
• Perseverance and the flexibility to respond quickly to changing circumstances.
