As a manager, your role involves facilitating and coaching the teams. Empowering the professionals is central to this, as their commitment to their work and the target audience is immense. As a manager, you have ultimate responsibility for the quality of service, the budget, and your team(s).
You will continue the approach established by the current manager. You will support employees in translating developments into team goals and a plan. In this process, you will inspire employees to give their best so that the way we organize prevention and assistance remains up to date. You will motivate your teams to consult, collaborate, and make decisions in a modern way, thereby contributing as much as possible to our social mission.
Another key aspect of your role is contributing to policy development based on internal and external trends. Today’s society is constantly changing, and how does your organization respond to that? You are actively involved in the innovative development of our service offerings and our positioning as a specialist in the field of domestic violence by improving our services and actively collaborating with partners and clients; you propose improvements and ultimately ensure their implementation.
As a manager, you’ll work closely with a process facilitator to guide, coach, motivate, and lead the team so that everyone can effectively carry out the important work with clients and continue to grow. The right person in the right place. You’ll have “the right conversation.” Not just because it’s expected, but mainly because you have a genuine interest in the people on your team. Given the backgrounds of the clients and professionals, it is an advantage if you have experience and knowledge of multicultural developments in the broadest sense of the word, can focus on inclusivity and diversity, and understand the challenges our clients face in this area.
You will maintain staffing reports, post job openings as needed, and participate in the recruitment and selection process. In the event of emergencies, high-risk situations, or complaints, you will serve as the point of contact and resolve these issues as necessary. In this role, you will be a key advisor to the management team. As a manager, you will be included in the on-call roster.
As a manager, you take responsibility without taking over. Together with the teams, you explore what the next steps in their development should and could be. You offer constructive criticism and encourage colleagues to address each other’s concerns in a constructive manner, demonstrating that this is a positive process and ensuring it becomes an integral part of how we work together. You have a solid understanding of day-to-day operations, are curious about them, and are focused on proactively facilitating them. You know how to navigate our organization as well as external networks. A connector who knows our partners, understands what’s happening “outside,” and supports teams in this collaboration. You are approachable and accessible, and you manage your schedule in a way that makes it easy for colleagues to drop by. From this role, you see what is going well and what is missing. You identify risks and opportunities for the team as well as across the organization. You are creative, solution-oriented, and help others advance in their work. With your communication skills, you are able to have difficult conversations and use them when necessary; you clearly set boundaries, escalate issues when needed, and are decisive. You recognize that working with the consequences of domestic violence and child abuse can be frustrating, is not always successful, and that we must deal with the discomfort and the limits of what is feasible and achievable. You share successes and also discuss when the work isn’t going well, striving to learn from those experiences. A positive connector who is decisive yet flexible enough to adapt when the situation demands it and adjust priorities to achieve the established goal. As an ambassador for Blijf Groep, you actively promote the organization’s vision both internally and externally.
In addition to a professional and dynamic work environment, there are also opportunities to participate in the training programs offered by the Blijf Group. We also offer you:
About 45 colleagues work at the Alkmaar location. The team is divided into Social Workers, Hostesses, Reception, Facilities, Children’s Services, and SPW.
