As a manager, you support the professionals on your team in carrying out their work. You provide direction through a vision-driven approach and help the team organize effectively and deliver high-quality results. You also help shape the organization’s development and the Amersfoort transformation initiative. Based on this, you will further develop area-based working in collaboration with your team and the network partners in the neighborhood.

What will you be doing?

  • You are responsible for supporting and developing your team so that they can perform at their best, enjoy coming to work, and continue to grow professionally.
  • You will implement HR policies, including recruitment and selection, onboarding, development, performance evaluations, and support for employees on leave. In doing so, you will hold relevant discussions with employees and provide clarity regarding performance expectations.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the quality of your team’s work and helping it achieve its goals, and you will guide its development into a versatile, multidisciplinary team that works collaboratively and is highly self-organized.
  • You will support the director in further developing and implementing the Foundation’s vision and mission, and contribute to the transformation process by leveraging your knowledge, expertise, and internal and external contacts.
  • You will establish and maintain contact with network partners and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
  • You represent SWA in complex consultation situations and collaborate with referrers and specialists in your interactions with neighborhood team members and residents. You are able to balance the various interests of your team, the organization, the client, and network partners.

The ideal candidate must have the following knowledge and experience:

  • You have a university-level education and way of thinking;
  • Relevant management training and leadership experience in the social sector;
  • You are familiar with various coaching and management techniques;
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills, and you know how to effectively convey your analyses, recommendations, and proposals to others;
  • You have a broad perspective on society and current issues in the fields of youth services and healthcare;
  • You have knowledge of administrative and political environments and are able to navigate them effectively.

The organization

The Social Neighborhood Teams Foundation plays a central role in Amersfoort’s social sector. With over 180 neighborhood team staff members, we provide care and support close to the city’s residents. The neighborhood team’s mission consists of: clarifying needs, providing support and guidance, and coordinating services. Together with a network of organizations, we strengthen the neighborhoods. In doing so, we are always looking for ways to improve and innovate our services. We do this through dialogue with residents, among professionals, and with external partners.

Together with eight fellow managers, you will be responsible for managing staff, initiating and implementing new policies, and coordinating strategic collaboration with the municipality of Amersfoort.

Terms of Employment

The Amersfoort Neighborhood Team is offering a one-year contract with the intention of converting it to a permanent position.

Your salary depends on your education and experience and, according to Scale 11 of the Social Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, ranges from a minimum of €3,915 to a maximum of €6,079 gross per month based on full-time employment (36 hours). A reclassification of the position to Scale 12 (max. €6,750) is currently under consideration. In addition to your monthly salary, you will have an Individual Choice Budget (IKB) worth approximately 19% of your annual salary (including vacation pay and year-end bonus). You can use this budget for various purposes, including leave. In addition, Wijkteam Amersfoort offers excellent benefits, including commuting expenses, an annual allowance for setting up a home office, flexible working hours, and extensive training opportunities.
