Sales Manager
Stadsschouwburg Utrecht is the vibrant theatrical heart of Utrecht and the surrounding area. We present a wide range of national and international performances across all genres. We also organize special projects, often in collaboration with other venues, festivals, and companies in Utrecht. In addition, we offer our historic building for rental. We have two theater halls, several lobbies, a café (Mevr. Dudok), and a theater restaurant (Zindering). We welcome more than 200,000 visitors annually, and we believe it is important that everyone feels welcome.
Your team
The Hospitality & Sales Department ensures that the public, performers, and staff at Stadsschouwburg Utrecht always feel welcome, safe, and comfortable during their visit. The rental team is part of this department. The department has a commercial objective, to which rental income makes a significant contribution.
As Sales Manager, you areresponsible for all venue rental activities at our theater—from business events, amateur performances, and community gatherings to private parties. You will work alongside two colleagues.
What will you be doing?
- Recruitment of commercial and social partners, activities, and events.
- Developing annual sales plans.
- Contribute to policy development.
- Coordinating marketing and communications materials for rentals.
- Maintaining relationships and a network of community and commercial tenants and sponsors.
- Managing two colleagues.
- Event planning.
- Submission of quarterly reports and related administrative tasks.
Who are you?
- You are creative, business-minded, results-oriented, presentable, flexible, and willing to work on weekends and holidays.
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- You are solution-oriented and have strong skills in planning, prioritizing, and maintaining an overview.
- You have a good sense of the situation, can handle stress well, are good at improvising, and are able to balance various interests.

- HBO-level academic and cognitive abilities
- Extensive experience in sales and communications
- An interest in theater, hospitality, and the restaurant industry.
