To strengthen its management team, RADAR is currently seeking a: Manager, 32 hours per week
National developments, such as closer cooperation among anti-discrimination bodies in the Netherlands and increased funding for prevention efforts aimed at addressing discrimination at the local and regional levels, will have an immediate impact on RADAR’s work.
The manager reports to the managing director and is a member of the management team.
The assignment
Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- managing the team of complaint handlers who form the support center, as well as the support team (secretariat, financial, HR, and project administration, IT, and facilities);
- implementing and executing the organizational and strategic policies for both teams;
- ensuring the quantitative and qualitative foundations (staffing levels, service quality, expertise), conducting employee interviews, and addressing HR matters that arise at the team level;
- internal and external positioning of the teams and the organization;
- serving as a (strategic) account manager for municipalities in South Holland;
- maintaining a network of internal and external contacts and following up on agreements with partners such as municipalities, Discriminatie.nl, government agencies, the police, and the media;
- contribute to the organization's policy as part of the RADAR management team.
What are we looking for?
- You are an independent and experienced manager; you have several years of proven experience leading professionals, you have experience with a coaching leadership style, you are open to feedback, and you reflect on your own actions.
- You are a professional, preferably with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent level of education; you have excellent planning and organizational skills, and you can quickly switch between the various tasks and roles involved in this position.
- You are focused on building connections; you have strong communication and interpersonal skills and are adept at building relationships within the team, the organization, and with stakeholders. A relevant professional network is a plus.
- You have experience with change management; you are proactive, analytical, and decisive in interpreting internal and external developments and changes that affect your teams and guiding them through the implementation process.
- You have an interest in RADAR’s focus areas—equal treatment and inclusion—and preferably have knowledge of equal treatment laws.

- The position is that of a manager and, depending on work experience, is classified in pay grade 11 of theSocial Work Collective Bargaining Agreement, with a minimum salary of €3,828 and a maximum of €5,845 (per month based on a 36-hour workweek). In addition, there is a flexible spending account equivalent to approximately 16% of the gross salary and a career development budget;
- In addition to the collective bargaining agreement, the organization offers a combined allowance for commuting (up to 37 km of the commute is reimbursed) and for working from home.
