
Good reading skills are essential for everyone to participate fully in society. The Eemland Library is fully committed to increasing the joy of reading among young people through our programs such as Boekstart, the VoorleesExpress, and the Library at School. We also organize activities at our branches and at locations outside the Library. We offer adults a range of activities at various locations to make reading easier, more accessible, and more appealing for them.

• You will oversee the development and implementation of the "Reading for Pleasure: Youth and Adults" program line and all related activities and objectives.
• You will help develop the Library’s annual plan and long-term policy.
• You provide hierarchical leadership to the employees within the program line using a coaching approach.
• You will build and maintain a network that supports the success of the program line.
• You focus on results and budgets, acting as a sounding board for the program specialists and supporting them in setting priorities and managing finances, including applying for and accounting for grants.
• You manage the process and objectives using the OGSM method.
• You are responsible for evaluating, adjusting, and ensuring the (project) results.
• A relevant degree at the associate's degree level or higher.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An interest in education and promoting reading.
• A clear vision for promoting reading among children and adults.
• Knowledge of and experience with change processes and team development.
• Numerical and financial acumen.
• You are an innovator and a connector who works with partners to creatively translate the needs of the community into new opportunities, products, activities, and processes. You bring the right people on board and empower them to achieve the best possible results.
• You ensure that processes run smoothly, that agreements are clear, and motivate others to do their part.
• You have knowledge of and experience with program and project management.
A one-year fixed-term employment contract, with the possibility of extension. The salary is based on education and relevant work experience in pay scale 10 of the Public Libraries Collective Bargaining Agreement (between €3,786 and €4,956 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek, excluding the 4% collective bargaining agreement increase effective July 1, 2024), 8% vacation pay, 4% year-end bonus, employer contributions toward health and other insurance, 5 weeks of vacation, bicycle plan, contribution toward a gym membership, and, of course, a library membership.
