As Manager of the MVO Learning Center, your focus will be on the field of medical postgraduate training (MVO) within Amsterdam UMC. You will play a key role in this area. With your broad perspective, you are able to see the big picture and take the initiative to professionalize both the department (MVO Learning Center) and Amsterdam UMC’s medical postgraduate training programs.
The CSR Learning Center was established in April 2022 through a merger of teams from both locations (VUmc and AMC). In addition to your role in the organizational development of the MVO Learning Center, you will harmonize training programs and resolve change management issues. You will coach and advise the team members of the MVO Learning Center, demonstrating inclusive leadership and creativity in finding solutions. In addition, you will also address advisory issues at both the strategic and tactical levels.
You are a valued partner and advisor to directors, managers, and board members. You serve as an ambassador and representative of the CSR Learning Center in regional and national forums. You move easily between different disciplines, such as policy, finance, information management, process management, and risk management.
You translate laws, regulations, policies, and the priorities of senior management into actionable initiatives that can be implemented and developed within the CSR Learning Center. You have a customer-focused approach, the ability to set priorities, and can adapt quickly. You advise and coach consultants and support staff in carrying out their duties.
You understand the power dynamics within the organization and possess the political acumen to navigate them effectively.
In this role, you will report to the Vice Dean of Education and Training at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). The MVO Learning Center, which you will lead, advises and supports postgraduate medical training programs regarding content, quality, format, and implementation. The MVO Learning Center is part of the Education & Training division of Amsterdam UMC. You will work closely with the various medical residency programs, the Central Training Committee, the Resident Physicians’ Council, and the Board of Directors. The region is also an important partner.
The CSR Learning Center consists of a dedicated team of seven staff advisors and four support staff. Teamwork is highly valued, and your colleagues will be happy to guide you as you settle into your new role.
The CSR Learning Center advises and supports the Central Education Committee (COC) in its statutory oversight role. The COC ensures that the quality of educational programs within Amsterdam UMC remains at a high standard, in part by playing a central role in safeguarding the quality system to ensure it complies with recent legal requirements. In addition, the MVO Learning Center ensures that the training program and the topics within the training development agenda are implemented in a timely, complete, and accurate manner. All of this is done in close collaboration with the COC and under the ultimate responsibility of the MVO portfolio holder on the Board of Directors. The MVO Learning Center plays a unifying role in training physicians to become skilled medical specialists within an organization where postgraduate training programs at both locations and across two training regions have been consolidated.
As the CSR Learning Center Manager, you will collaborate with managers from other departments within Amsterdam Health Education and Amsterdam UMC. You will also work with managers from hospitals in the region and at the national level.
