As the largest component of the cultural sector, Dutch museums are uniquely positioned to connect with society and bring together a wide variety of perspectives and people. Each museum tells a unique story, sparks conversations, and fosters cultural development. They showcase the past, tell our stories, and work toward a shared future. Because museums belong to and are for everyone.
The Museum Association is the trade association representing 487 museums in the Netherlands. Our mission is to create a future-proof museum sector with which everyone feels a sense of connection. Through five key priorities, we foster connections with the public, encourage and facilitate knowledge sharing among members, and advocate for the interests of the museum sector with the government.
The Museum Association focuses, among other things, on broadening the audience and increasing museums’ revenue-generating capacity. An important tool used to achieve this is the Museum Card, an initiative resulting from collaboration among participating museums. In these challenging times, the continuity of the Museum Card is of crucial importance to the entire museum sector. That is why we are looking for an energetic and inspiring IT Manager for the Museum Card, who will contribute with enthusiasm and vision to the further development and strengthening of this valuable initiative.
As the IT Manager for the Museum Card, you play a crucial role within the organization. You are responsible for the overall strategy, coordination, and evaluation of IT, thereby contributing to the efficient and effective operations of the organization, in line with its goals. As a project leader, you manage internal colleagues from various departments and monitor progress and communication with external IT partners. Your core team is the Operations Department, where you work side-by-side with the Head of Operations. Together, you keep track of the operational workflow and identify areas for improvement. You report to the Director and attend Management Team or Board meetings as needed.
