What will you be doing?

As the Work Readiness and Absenteeism Manager at Cordaan, you’ll take the lead in reducing absenteeism and increasing work readiness. You’ll dive into the numbers and trends, analyze them thoroughly, and work with the team to translate these insights directly into effective improvement strategies. You’ll develop and implement action plans that truly make a difference, giving the sustainable employability of our employees a significant boost.

You won’t be doing this alone! You’ll play a key role in coordinating and strengthening collaboration between your team, HR consultants, and healthcare managers to ensure that the absence policy is implemented effectively and has a measurable impact.

You will report to the HR Advisory Manager and lead a team of approximately 10 absenteeism advisors and staff members. You will be part of the extended management team of the HR, Quality & Innovation department. In total, there are approximately 135 colleagues working at HRK&I.

Where will you be working?

Cordaan provides care to approximately 20,000 people from 120 locations in Amsterdam, Diemen, Huizen, and Nieuw-Vennep. We do this with over 6,000 employees and more than 2,500 volunteers, in collaboration with family caregivers, other healthcare professionals, research institutions, and social organizations. As one of Amsterdam’s largest healthcare organizations, Cordaan is committed to taking responsibility for the development of long-term care in the city.

What does Cordaan offer?

The terms and conditions of employment for the position of Absenteeism and Employability Manager are in accordance with the VVT collective bargaining agreement.

  • A one-year contract for32 to 36 hours per week, withthe possibility of a permanent position
  • A salary ranging from a minimum of€4,194.00to a maximum of€6,583.00 gross,based on a 36-hour workweek
  • Year-end bonus of8.33%of gross annual income and a standard annual vacation allowance of 8%
  • A pleasant workplace next to Amsterdam Central Station on the IJ
  • A bicycle plan and bicycle repair reimbursement

Who are you?

You are an experienced and capable Work Readiness and Absenteeism Manager with a track record in a large, dynamic organization. You possess sharp analytical skills and a deep understanding of work readiness and absenteeism management. You understand that positive work readiness is the key to driving change, particularly when it comes to absenteeism behavior. You have the ability to translate data and trends into strategic actions that make a real difference.

With excellent communication skills, you are able to interact effectively at all levels within the organization and with external partners. You have experience managing self-insured coverage for sick leave and the WGA, and you can clearly identify and control risks and costs. You are able to inspire, motivate, and elevate your team to a higher level, and you have a clear vision of how to effectively address absenteeism.
