As Corporate Communications Manager, you will lead a team of 11 professionals specializing in media relations, stakeholder management, issue management, internal communications, labor market communications, and public events. You will report to the Director of Public Affairs & Marketingand, as a member of the Management Team, will be part of the NPO’s broader leadership team.
You play a unifying and coaching role within the team, creating the conditions for close and enjoyable collaboration. You establish strategic communication frameworks, clear objectives, and well-defined priorities, and ensure a safe work environment in which employees can perform at their best and continue to develop. You implement HR policies, organize work meetings and one-on-one sessions, and conduct performance and development reviews.
As Corporate Communications Manager, you will translate the NPO’s mission and strategy into a powerful and well-thought-out cross-media communications policy for both external and internal audiences. In doing so, you will guide the team’s continued growth and positioning within the organization.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication and annual plans, along with the associated (multi-year) budgets, for which you will have budgetary responsibility. You will work closely with the marketing manager and the board’s policy advisor for stakeholder management and corporate sponsorship to strengthen the brand strategy and reputation of both the public broadcaster and the NPO brands.
As Corporate Communications Manager, you will guide public relations and communications through both traditional and social media, and in the event of high-profile issues, you will also serve as a spokesperson on behalf of the Board of Directors and senior management. You will bring a strong press and media network to the role and help promote the social value of public broadcasting by implementing a transparent and focused reputation management strategy. In addition, as a figurehead and collaborative partner for the team and the executive board, you are visible both within and outside the NPO. You know how to effectively represent the team’s interests and align them with the broader organizational goals.
As a corporate communications manager, you not only have an affinity for the media, but also a keen understanding of the NPO’s position and role as a public media brand within a national and international landscape. You are an experienced people manager with a sharp mind, a sense of humor, and the ability to operate effectively in a political and administrative environment. You think from the perspective of the public and the public value of media, possess highly developed strategic insight, and navigate smoothly in an environment that is constantly changing.
You possess persuasive skills and vision, and you can set and maintain a strategic course. As a corporate communications manager, you are decisive and have a highly developed coaching leadership style. Collaboration is in your DNA, both within and outside the NPO.
The Corporate Communications department helps build a strong public profile for the NPO by telling a clear and compelling story about the social value of public broadcasting. The department maintains relationships with the media, stakeholders, employees, and peers at other broadcasters. It operates in a complex environment where the NPO is frequently the subject of public debate and intense media attention.
In the coming years, the department will face major communication challenges, such as significant cuts to the broadcasting budget (starting in 2026), potential reforms to the broadcasting system (starting in 2029), and the ongoing digital transition toward on-demand and online media consumption. In this dynamic environment, the NPO is seeking a corporate communications manager who acts decisively at both the strategic and tactical levels, maintains a broad perspective, and inspires and represents the team.
The position of Corporate Communications Manager is a permanent, full-time role (36 hours per week). You will receive a one-year contract, and the salary ranges from €5,316 to €8,619 gross per month based on a 36-hour workweek. We determine the starting salary based on education, experience, and equal pay for all genders. For this position, we start at the beginning of the pay scale.
