
As Core Facilities Manager, you will ensure optimal collaboration, coordination, and synergy among the various core facilities at Amsterdam UMC. You will safeguard the quality, continuity, and innovation of the services provided to internal and external users.
You will work closely with the scientific managers of the various core facilities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing policies related to operations (such as finance, IT, and communications) and strategy. You will do this in alignment with the objectives of Amsterdam UMC and Division 9 Laboratories.
You have a college degree, preferably with a focus on business administration or management, and experience working in a complex environment. In addition:
Amsterdam UMC currently has five accredited core facilities, all within Division 9 Laboratories: Genomics (AMC and VUmc locations), Metabolomics (AMC location), Microscopy & Cytometry (both locations), and Proteomics (VUmc location). These core facilities form a key pillar of Amsterdam UMC’s research strategy and provide a state-of-the-art research infrastructure.
You will work closely with the scientific managers of the core facilities and report to the Director of Operations for Division 9. Functional oversight is provided by the Vice Dean of Research and the portfolio holder for core facilities from the Amsterdam Research Board (ARB).
You will lead the administrative department(s) that support all core facilities (across the board), including the data management/high-performance computing facility (ACDC).
