@ease is growing rapidly, and we are expanding our nationwide coverage. We are therefore looking for a passionate communications manager to help us further develop our brand identity so that our message reaches every young person in the Netherlands.
At @ease, young people between the ages of 12 and 25 can drop by or chat online, with no strings attached, to talk about their concerns. Topics of conversation can vary widely: heartbreak, parents getting divorced, bullying in class, academic stress, feelings of sadness, or financial problems. No matter how big or small their personal questions may be, at @ease they can talk about them. This can be done anonymously and is always free! A trained team of enthusiastic volunteers and professionals is ready to respond effectively to people’s concerns and—if necessary—help someone (quickly) find the right support outside of @ease.
At @ease, we believe that no young person should have to face life’s challenges alone when things aren’t going well. That’s why we’re working hard to further develop and expand our services nationwide. And we could really use your help with that!
What will you be doing as a communications manager?
- Further developing and maintaining @ease’s brand identity and communication strategy, both internally and externally.
- Developing communication plans from budgeting through implementation, with a focus on the needs of various stakeholders, such as young people and partners.
- As a member of the Executive Team, contribute to the strategic development of @ease and work with other Executive Team members to strengthen our shared vision.
- Contribute to the nationwide rollout of @ease by working with the communications officer to support new locations with local PR and informational materials.
- Managing a communications specialist, interns, and external agencies in the areas of social media, the website, and graphic design.
- Drafting grant applications and financial reports (including those submitted to municipalities) to continue fulfilling our mission.
- Developing various communication tools as needed, ranging from social media posts to printed materials and promotional items.
- Develop a press and media strategy, maintain press contacts, and respond to media inquiries to raise the profile of @ease both nationally and locally.
- Helping colleagues write clear texts and create content.
Who are you?
You have a big heart for young people. You can translate strategy into practical plans, and you enjoy both getting your hands dirty and contributing ideas at the strategic level. In addition, you are creative, proactive, and a connector, and you’re not afraid to take on responsibility. You enjoy working as part of an enthusiastic team that shares the same mission: to offer young people a safe place where they feel heard and where they can turn when they’re struggling with something.
And also:
- Do you have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and a bachelor’s degree in communications?
- Do you understand the different target audiences within and outside of @ease, and can you shape our communications based on those perspectives?
- Do you have an excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written?
What do we offer you?
- A job that makes a difference: your work truly helps young people move forward.
- The opportunity to help shape a growing organization.
- One-year contract based on a 36-hour workweek.
- A salary in pay grade 11 and competitive benefits in accordance with the Social Work W&MD Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Hybrid work, where you are on-site in the Utrecht area two days a week.
