Working at the Safety Region means working in a dynamic organization, where there’s always a fire to put out or an emergency that needs attention. Not all of our colleagues wear helmets and fire-resistant clothing. From communications officers to controllers, from technicians to administrative staff: we’re all part of the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region. Everyone contributes to the functioning of this organization based on their own expertise.
Together, we are working to make Amsterdam-Amstelland a safer place.
The Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region is a partnership between the municipalities of Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Diemen, Ouder-Amstel, and Uithoorn. Our region has approximately one million residents, many thousands of people who commute to work every day, and countless tourists each year. This requires effective action, the pooling of knowledge and expertise, and professional leadership. We are an organization of about 1,000 people who respond effectively to fires and accidents, as well as to disasters and large-scale crisis situations.
The Safety Region consists of the sectors Fire Services (Incident Response and Risk Management), Operations, Crisis Management, and Innovation & Information, as well as the departments Management & Communication and the GHOR (the Regional Medical Assistance Organization).
’s Operations Division The Operations Division consists of the HR, IT & Administration, Finance & Budgeting, and CIF departments. These departments support our organization’s core processes. In addition, they provide the expertise, advice, and support necessary for (strategic) policy decisions. They contribute to the efficient allocation of financial and material resources and human capital, based on sound operational management. The vacancy has arisen due to the departure of the current CIF (Control, Information, and Finance) manager.
Position within the organization:
The work is carried out under the responsibility of and supervised by the Operations Sector Manager, with—if the situation requires it—a direct line of communication to the Chief and/or the Finance Portfolio Holder on the Board.
