Do you and your team of business controllers help ensure the effective use of financial resources within public broadcasting by working in a people-oriented manner to develop optimal processes, clear plans, and adequate management information? Would you also like to take on the role of business controller yourself? If so, we warmly invite you to apply for the position of Manager of Business Control!
As Business Control Manager, you advise, inform, and are accountable for the allocation of resources for public broadcasting. You are responsible for the level of the business control function within the NPO. You assess and promote the effectiveness and efficiency of this allocation. You report to the Director of Finance, lead the Business Control department, which has three employees, and are part of the Finance Department’s management team, whose members collaborate in a collegial manner and support one another across portfolios.
In your role as Business Control Manager, you will coach the business controllers, adopting a people-oriented approach and effectively managing resistance. You will optimize the department’s work processes and ensure a high standard of work quality. In addition, you will formulate, monitor, and implement the long-term business control policy, translating it into annual plans.
As a manager, you are responsible for implementing HR policies within your team. This includes conducting performance reviews, evaluations, and progress meetings, as well as fostering the development of your team members.
In collaboration with colleagues within the Finance Department, you will provide relevant financial and non-financial management information to the Chief Financial Officer and, indirectly, to the Board of Directors and the executive team. You will also support management in providing accountability for the management of allocated budgets and, to that end, further develop management information systems, among other things. Throughout the year, you will assess the forecast and budget utilization together with the business controllers based on quarterly reports. In addition, you will carry out the substantive planning and control cycle (internally). You will budget, monitor, and report on the progress of the NPO annual plan and fully implement business control and accountability.
As a Business Control Manager, you will work largely independently while also maintaining close contact with your colleagues in the Finance Department and various stakeholders. You find fulfillment in analyzing data and are able to place it within a broader context. You are a people manager and enjoy helping others grow in their careers.
People who are enthusiastic, results-oriented, proactive, and driven to help themselves and others grow are a great fit for our team. You’ll be working in an organization and a management team that is constantly evolving; together with your colleagues in the Finance Department, you’ll help shape its future.
The skills of problem-solving, taking initiative, motivating others, and collaborating are well developed.
The Finance Department is responsible for the financial management and accountability of the entire public broadcasting sector.
